I hope everyone has gotten out.
This doesn't look good.

The levees are made to keep water out but once water is in it has to be pumped out. Problem is the pumps are out right now and once they are running they can only pump 1" of water an hour. The next problem is they pump the water back into the lake and canals...that are breched and flowing back into the city. Soooooo its not good right now. 80% is under water 0 power 0 water pressure...nothing nada. There was looting but now parts of the city are under marshal law so looters will be locked up and the book will be thrown at them. I am hearing that I might be able to go home in a week only to survey the damage and gather what I need. Then we have to leave for a month or longer
New Orleans is closed....like its a 7 11

i talked to my mother in law yesterday(monday at 11am) cant believe i got through. she is scarred wishes she would have left, water is in her house and was rising, she said its horrible...i havent heard from her since..and i still havent heard from my brother in law.
God I am sorry for all of you in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. anywhere but there! i would have rather had that storm come through west palm then there since we are higher and most of our buildings are newer and under stricter building codes..

It just sounds like things are going from bad to worse every minute.

This biloxi thing has me totally miserable. Not to mention NO.
Horrible horrible..
And the freaking ignorant looters.

I now live in Nashville and seeing the destruction, panic and loss of life is terrible. Not being able to do a thing about it is even worse.
I've seen my parents home on CNN from helicopter (where I grew up) it's now under at least 12 or so feet of water, they did evacuate but are now homeless. Inlaws have 4 21-inch trees through their roof in Mobile, AL. Lost contact with numerous friends. Police officers are getting shot, looting is rampant, all heck is breaking loose. The president of Jefferson parish is carrying a plastic bag to use the bathroom in. The governor of louisiana is on larry king now and seems totally useless.
I don't know really what to think other than please donate to the red cross.
you can also visit wwl tv's site for more coverage.

Ed, you're right, those looters DO deserve to have their ***** shot off. i only wish i could be the one to do it.
how can they THINK of material possesions when so much more stands to be lost. homes, lives, friends, family!!! i would think EVERYONE values those things higher that a pair of expensive jeans (anyone else watch them looters on World News Tonight?
)
in any case, everyone needs to keep up their spirits, keep hoping and keeping their spirits high. its the only solution that really does work for everything. just keep hoping...

yah but some do it for profit VERY BAD and some like they say are panicing and believe they are doing it then to survive , now thats a differnt plea or case altogether its just a Bad situation . period.
I keep leaveing the TV thinking there is no it way it can get much worse. Only to tune back in and see that it has. It brings things into perspective. Questions like what's for supper and what will I wear to work tomorrow don't seem to matter that much to me now.
