Ya...build week of April 25 (see sig ). I guess-timate that'll I'll have it May 9th week...if everything goes well.

And I, for one, want the global up/down. My car bakes in parking lot at work in the summer.

Congrats Dude! It's been a long hard road, but it's worth it now!

I know a good place where you can get window tinting done! And they're opening a new store in Arlington, but the one on Alta Mera has done over a hundred Mustangs for Texas Motors among others......

Alta Mere doesn't have felt to put on unfortunately. I asked already. I'm gonna take it to the dealer soon and let them look at it so maybe they can put some on there. The tint scratches from the window drop too. I rarely ever roll my windows either and most of my scratches are about an inch long. Just enough to see them with the window closed.

Ya...this whole "scratch" thing is getting me a bit worried. Don't understand why tint places don't know about felt. :S Seems like that would be a common adder for windows.

Yeah, I hope mine don't get scratched up too. It's a brand new tint job! Errr....

Hey Y'all! My Mustang turned white this weekend. Luckily it was just all the dust from parking at Texas Motor Speedway. I gave the clutch a workout driving in the traffic and I was quite pleased with it. The hydraulic clutch is sweet. No tired left leg and I managed to get 19.5 mpg. I met Railray last night at a DFW CarClub meet last night at Hooters. I told him about this thread so maybe he will join us here. There were several Mustangs there(only 2 05's) and a whole bunch of imports. Supposed to be there again in 2 weeks. Y'all should come out.

Boy, the clutch on my car is still pretty stiff. It's making my knee sore, but I hope I can get used to it. I was also in traffic on Saturday and there was a accident on the freeway and traffic was really slow.

Some of the V6 guys said that theirs got a lot softer after about 900 miles, so hopefully mine will too.....

I haven't had any of the issues refueling, or any problems with the Shaker 500 stero in it that people had back in October when the 05's first came out. So I guess those problems were solved by putting the improved parts on the production line.....

Good to hear on the clutch, Shaker and refueling. Was that 19.5 MPG in the stop-n-go traffic? If so, wow! That's pretty good for the V8. I'm still curious to see what the highway will hold for me on the GT as I'm a bit spoiled with the 25-28 I get on the highway with my current V6.

I'm sure your clutch will get softer as you "excercise" it, Falchion.

2 weeks, eh? Hmmm... Post details as that date becomes firm.

Anyone notice that Blake has been absent? I found him on DFWStangs.net and asked him what was up. He said he is having some mac/internet explorer problems with TMS and cannot access the forums. He can't figure it out. He asked me to tell y'all that he hasn't bailed on us. He also told me he has a Blk GT with IUP, ICAP, Spoiler delete w/bullits on order for x-plan at 5-Star. I told him to keep me updated and I'll pass it on until he can get his computer issues fixed.

The 19.5 mpg had a trip to Grapevine Mills Mall on it I think but otherwise it was 4 roundtrips to the speedway and back. Saturday and Sunday were the only real stop and go traffic but I was pleasantly surprised at the mileage. The tank before was 18.2 with mostly city driving.

Falchion, is the V-6 clutch hydraulic too? It should be a fairly light clutch if it is.

I'll let ya know about the dates on that meet when they post it up. There is also a charity laps drive at Texas Motor Speedway on May 14th. $25 gets ya 3 laps in your own car. It should be pretty cool.

May 14th? I should have my car by then.

Ya..I was beginning to wonder about Blake. Never heard of a PC not letting someone access a particular site. Maybe his wife just blocked TMS on the firewall 'cause he was visiting too much.

Yeah, Tread the V6 clutch is hydraulic too. But I think it's a little stiffer then the one in the GT.

But, my knee does feel better today, so maybe it's just a case of getting used to the clutch in my car......

It's good to hear about Blake, I'm glad he ordered a car......

Sounds like you're getting pretty good gas mileage Tread. Mine is only on it's second tank and according to the Message Center is getting 18.5 MPG on half city/freeway driving. I'm think it'll get better as the engine get's broken in......

I called Texas Motor Speedway about the charity drive. Here's what she said:

When: Saturday, May 14th (durrr)... no times yet, but its going to be a set block of time. You sign up for a time slot then go when you're called.
Age Limit: 18
Speed Limit: 75-80mph. There will be 10-12 cars on the track at a time with a pace car in front of, in the middle of, and the end of the pack.

She said there were 500 cars last year. More info will be posted on their website www.scctexas.org (its not up yet though).

Nascar has had a negative on my latest tank of gas. So far after 1/4 tank used I'm at 14.5mpg. I can't keep my foot out of it for some reason. :drive: I think the charity drive will be cool.

I heard that if you don't reset the MPG between tanks then you get a more accurate reading.......

Last time I looked it was 30 something mph. I've been running it up thru the gears around 4-6000 rpms alittle too much lately. :drive:

Yeah, I should let mine run up a little higher then I do. I usually shift at around 3000 rpm's or so. I think it would be better to let it go to at least 4000 to get the most torque. But, I'm getting used to the car more, starting to enjoy it more.

But, I got something else for my Pony yesterday. A custom Sun Shield! Cost too much money, but it fit really well. It's heavy duty, looks like a Nuclear Blast shield out of a B-52 bomber or something......

I got the top one on this page, the UVS100, the other one is cheaper....

You weren't kidding about the cost but, it will probably be worth it come summer. You gotta run em up thru the gears every now and then just for the fun of it. The hard part is not doing it all the time.

Hey Guys...

I live on the West Side and have had my Torch Red GT since mid January. Stopped by to see the car show behind the Hooters (SW Blvd.) on Monday night and found Treadhead sitting in his W/B GT off to the side of the lot away from the hoards of ricers with their glowing neon. It was nice to run into someone from TMS (he even had a nice black TMS T-shirt on) and to chat about our rides. Glad to see some of you are starting to earn your 'nanners. I only had to wait two months but it seemed like it was much longer. Got way to familiar with the ERL's voice...LOL

Looks like pretty soon we'll need to share some of our stories in person...
I'm going to try real hard to make it to the DFWCC car show (the one where I met Threadhead) which hopefully will be in a week and a half or so. Maybe I'll see some of you there!
