I haven't really heard too many good things about Texas Motors, but they treated you good huh Tread?

They're closer to work then 5 star is, but 5 star is closer to where I live. I liked Reid, so I guess I'll stick with them....

I'm getting mine at Texas Motors. They have always treated me well. I couldn't get my usual deal since the Mustang is so hot but it worked out ok. Plus I can see the lot from the top of my house. If it wasn't for my back surgery I would be up there watching for my car to come in!

Yea I don't know what the deal is with Texas Motors. I've had friends go there and have a bad experience and heard other people who weren't happy with them but, they have always been good to me. I have met the owner a few times and he seems pretty nice. They called the regional ordering guy and threw a fit to get my car pulled which is ok in my book. I will check 5 Star if I ever have problems here. They seemed impressive when I was looking for car on the lot while waiting on my stang to be pulled. Missed one by a few hours.

Well thet're close to your House too, so that's pretty good. What about that Hillard Ford/Mazda Delaership off Bryant Irvin? I was thinking of going to them, but now I'm on the other side of town from them.....

I haven't heard anything about Hillard. On the off chance nothing worked with Five Star, I was going to check out Texan Ford in Arlington or Grand Prairie Ford.

I had the lady from Hillard calling for quite a while there, she really wanted to sell me a Mustang.....

But I had already taken a test drive over at Five Star, so I didn't think it would be fair to Reid to go to another Dealer after that!

I've bought one vehicle from Hillard and was not too impressed with the experience. This was 10 years ago though so it might be better now. They went out of their way to get me a truck I wanted but acted like I owed them for it. They tried to give me bottom dollar for my trade and didn't want to cut me any kinda deal on the truck. I won't be going back there if I don't have to.

Maybe it's just as good I went with 5 Star then?

Speaking of which, I just got off the Phone with my Sales guy there and he said my order was accepted on 2-15-05, and that I just missed the $300 price increase that went into effect on Friday!

Now it's just a waiting game! I hope it doesn't take too long!

There was one guy who posted today who ordered close to what I'm getting, but he ordered Oct 1st, 2004 and is just now getting his car built! :bang:

Could you think of waiting that long? Wow!

Yeah, IMO, you can't go wrong with 5 star.

Ghost,

The guys at Texan are clueless. I was shopping around in September for a place to put in my order and they could not tell me anything other than someone off-site does all of their ordering for them. Five Star was not much better, but at the time none of the dealerships were that well informed.

I went with Don Davis, since I am in Arlington. They sold at MSRP, but Texan was marking up 3K in September.

If you guys get together, let me know.

Chris

I've been very satisfied with Five Star thus far and fully plan to order from there. Sadly, I'll be ordering at the end of the month so I'm catching about a $340 increase :cries:.

Thanks for the heads up Chris. One more trinket of knowledge. I'm glad you liked your experience at Don Davis...they were real nice to me, but when it came to numbers, I didn't like their first offering (they gave me 'X-Plan' numbers, but they were higher than they should have been).

If we get together, I'm sure someone will post the invite in here!

I have such crappy luck! I stopped by Texas Motors today to talk to my salesman and guess what he tells me. My car arrived in Mesquite this morning and is expected at the dealership tomorrow! I told him I will sneak out of the hospital and come get it. I will of course be under the knife at 9:30 in the morning. I at least have a good motivator to rehab as fast as I can. It's hard to be happy and mad at the same time!

Congrats about your car! Too bad about your operation, but like you said, it will motivate you to heal faster.......

LOL, that is a little crappy.

Oh well, you could just be getting cut on, and not have a cool car waiting on you to feel better.

Yeah, can't you set up a bed in your car? That would be a cool way to do things....

Yeah, but you can fold the rear seats down flat. Put his feet in the trunk and he's good to go!

Hey, on another note. Do you know where there's a good place in Fort Worth to get window tinting done? The Dealer wants $200 for it, and I've heard that's kind of expensive?

I've called two places, both in Arlington:

D&D Window Tint 817.469.8468
$159 w/Nationwide warranty
Appointment only - 1hr installation

Tint Depot 817.466.1259/2441
$139 w/Lifetime Warranty
1st come 1st serve - 35m 12s installation

Tint Depot says that they are the ones that Texan Ford uses for the "dealer" installed tinting.

I don't know anybody that's gotten tinting done, so I just cold called those places.

Thanks Tex!

By the way, it's getting close to the end of the month. Are you still going order your GT?

OK, that sounds good!

You'll be good to go!

Except you'll be like me! Having to wait! :bang:

Can you get the X-plan at least?

That's what I got!
