Ya...its an allocation thing. If I really needed the car that badly, I would probably do a state-wide search as well.

The Camaro still is running fine though, so right now its just the want of a new car. I can wait. (But its still driving me nutz.)

Guys, did you read this thread about tint scratches? Does Alta Mere put felt on the rubber liner/regulator? Have you had any issues Tread?

Yeah, I was kind of concerned about that as well. I don't want to scratch up my $160 tint job just because I put down my windows......

What to do though?

I have noticed a couple small(about 1") scratches on the driver side so far. I haven't really checked the passenger side yet. I'm gonna go have them look at it one day to see what they say about it. The scratches are on the bottom of the window so it might just be the window drop thing wearing it out . I have only rolled the windows down a few times so I don't know if it will scratch the whole thing or not. I'll let y'all know if I find out anything.

I'm gonna try to remember to call Alta Mere and see if they'll put felt on the regulator or can replace it outright.

I'd like to have the TMS logo if I were to do the plate.

Just an FYI on that plate frame. If it covers any of the writing on your plate it is technically illegal. Might get you stopped but, it's one of those really cheesy tickets and the officer would probably get made fun of for writing it. Just so you know because there are some officers who would write their own mother a ticket. It's one of those little known new laws passed last year or actually the year before. The top part w/your screen name would probably cover the word Texas on your plate.

I knew about it....totally forgot about it though. I'm more concerned with me not going to put on a front plate. Is that about the same "seriousness", Tread? I really loathe the front plate on this car.

Didn't that law pass about the same time as the reduce speed by 20mph or change lanes for emergency vehicles on the shoulder law?

I deceided to cancel my plate frame order, I don't need any hassles from the Police. Thanks for the heads up Tread!

Your welcome. These are some of those laws that are so minor that you are most likely not gonna have a problem but, you never can tell. We pretty much get to write tickets at our own discretion so it's up to the officer if they want to pull you over and/or write you for it. I will say that generally you shouldn't have much of a problem but, like I've said before there are some who would write their own mother a ticket. Did I dance around and muddy that water up enough for y'all?

I think the plate visibility law was really meant for all the people who put 2or3 traler hitch ***** on their bumper and completely block the plate numbers but, they had to make it so it applies to everyone for anything blocking the plate. The move over/slow down law was passed at the same time I think. Not too many people know about that one either! One of these days I'm gonna be the proud owner of someone's side mirror!

Yeah, The Blue Angles rock huh? I got to see them going home from work yesterday and today (yes, I work 7 days a week) They're really cool!

They came into the factory to check out the new fighter we're building, The F-35 JSF. Some of the guys I work with got to shake their hand, but I didn't want to hang around too much waiting for them, had work to do! Maybe the Blue Angles will be flying the Navy version of the JSF some day......

Yeah, I was concerned about the forum being down too. And I totally believed that April Fool's joke that Brad pulled.

But it's all going to be worth it. I think this is the week that my car get's here!

That F-35 JSF is pretty cool! I've always been kind of a airplane nut and sorta partial to the Thunderbirds and the F-16 but, the Blue Angels are cool too. Do you actually work on the JSF? What are the show teams gonna have to brag about when they both fly the same jet?
I didn't see the joke page so I didn't know why the forums were down until today. Good luck with your delivery too, I hope it gets here soon.

Ya...good luck this week. Can't wait for the pics.

I didn't get to to this year's airshow. I saw the full-scale mock-up at Alliance last year of the JSF. Would still like to see the real F-35 and F-22 someday, though. I always luv airshows. Am a plane nut myself. Too bad my non-20/20 kept me from joining up.

I thought the MiataSource.com was funny. It was waaay too off to not be a joke.

Yeah, I've been working on the JSF program for over a year now. It's pretty cool, lots of Overtime!

Ok, I went to Alta Mere today and of course I am the first to ask them about the tint scratching. They have not heard anything about it. They said it looked like having no felt on the inner weather strip could be the problem and suggested having Ford look at it before having it fixed since they(Alta Mere) would only fix it once under warranty. They also said that the metallic finish tint wouldn't stop it either since it is the same thickness and quality. The metallic finish will only help block out more heat. Texas Motors hasn't had any complaints about it yet either and I can't leave my car there yet for them to look at it. My service Mgr said that he would check on it and try to get Ford to cover it under warranty though. So you might wanna hold off on the tint if you can until some kind of fix is found unless you think your dealer will cover it. That is all.

P.S. Alta Mere does not install felt strips.
