Serious Reservations, doom for the 05?

Nah... don't kill it. Let fools demonstrate how foolish they are.
I drove a 300C -- it is a nice car. But a totally different car than a Mustang. I agree that for $5K+ more they've done a lot with the interior. It is a nice sedan with some pull. But totally different market than a mustang.
I hear the new H3 is going to totally obviate the Saturn Vue. (?!?!?)

Here is the thing with an IRS,
while a $14K civic does have one, because it is wrong wheel drive, there are no driveshafts and CV joints to build into the system, which would have to be built on a Mustang.

A front wheel drive setup is more complicated than IRS, not only is it fully independant but it also steers and moves the car, and yet you find it on all econoboxes.

No driveshafts or CV joints! then how does it move or steers?

I'm suspicious to that in about 2 months the car will have arrived at dealers and not ONE road test by any of the car mags, which are nearlly ALWAYS complimentary to a new car during it's honeymoon, later comparisons gets truly objective. This witholding also makes me dubious of how 'great' this 05 will be.

You are quite right, in a few months the comparision tests will be more meaningful. If you want accuracy and fairness, read Consumer's Reports, as they do not depend upon advertising. However, the editors at CR are not car enthusiasts, and are have a extremely utilitarian view of what we are so passionate about.
The Mustang lacks the refinement of the cars mentioned, but lacks the high price too. Its a pony car/muscle car, not a multi-link masterpiece. If you want better than .84g and 65 MPH slalom speeds, beatifully weighted steering, etc., you will have to trade off sales price, four passenger seating, the option of a slush box, et al, to get more refinement.
For me, it's fine as is.
