Shock Tower Covers Rubbing on Heat Shield

FYI, you might want to check your MWAG shock tower covers to see if you have the same issue reported by myself, Leo, and others. The shock tower cover is rubbing against the heat shield and the finish is coming off.

Pics below:

I spoke to Dan at MWAG today and he told me they're in the process of correcting the problem. He also said that anyone who had this problem would be able to exchange them as soon as they have a fix.

Thanks for the follow up post Leo. We actually do testing and have put these on 4 or 5 cars at our neighborhood Ford dealer and have not seen this problem after a month or two (yes, the cars were sold). Soren's Ford for those of you in the Milwaukee metro area, great dealer. Anyway we found out about this problem after the above post and have worked out a fix that will be on everything that goes out today and forward. All of those that we have already shipped we will send the fix to. If your covers are already damaged, we will replace them.
Dan

Oh now I understand you. I removed my hood cover last week I think it looks way better. +1 on the MWAG comment. Here's a pic with the cover removed.

Dan, thanks for the follow up as well. I did not call you, but I sent a customer service inquiry via your web site. I will assume that you will ship my replacements when you get them made.

I posted that originally just looking for information on if it was just me, or if it included others. I hopefully didn't get you in too much of a bind with the post. I didn't intend for it to become a fiasco....

Thanks again for the great customer service.

Alan.

The hood cover is also there to protect the paint on the hood from the heat coming off the exhaust manifolds. 4-bangers don't nearly as hot and thus many 4-banger cars do not have liners for the hood.

Not trying to be an "a-hole" bro, just commenting that I would expect such a thing such as clearance to be more throughly looked into before releasing such a product. Now my geuss is that it was made quickly so that it could hit the market quickly, (which I approve of), and therefore it could not be looked into in depth. Now that it has been discovered, I commend MGW for replacing the shipped covers at their cost. That is indeed excellent customer service
