I have the exact same thing happen on my 07. It only happens when I press the pedal all the way down. To fix it in the moment, I stick my foot under the gas pedal and pull it up like that. When I found out about it I was on the highway at night with no other cars so I happened to be real lucky. I'm glad nothing happened to you my man.
