There are more than enough reasons for each person to make their personal selection for either the V6 or the GT. But, someone mentioned that they couldn't see the allure of going so fast.

Well.....tell that to all of us who love the GT....or to those who buy a 300C, 350Z, RX8, WRX, G35C, Corvette, etc, etc, etc. We like performance cars. We like the way the drive, we like the way they accelerate, we like the way they handle, we like the way they look, and yes, the few times I get mine up to 140 MPH, we'll love that, too.

If that's not your cup of tea, we understand. Please don't tell us that we're being impractical (we already know that). We didn't buy the GT for it's practicallity. If that were my criteria, I'd be buying a Prius (Ugghhhhh!).

Think about this.. You claim the GT will have better resale which maybe true but it depends when you get rid of it. Without being a smart---- Lets say your GT and my V6 5 years from now have aprrox 70,000 miles and they are both in average condition. Let's say you paid aprox $6000 more for yours new then I paid for mine. Do you honestly think someone or a dealer would pay $6000 more for yours 5 years from now with the same milage in the same condition? If you think so then obviously don't know the car business very well. We would be lucky if either car would be worth much more the $6000 5 years from now with 70,000 in average condition. Mustang or not used cars that old for the most part are worth a fraction of their original cost. Now if both cars were mint condition and had only a few thousand miles on them it may be a different story....

Aaaah let me think about this one...Of Course the dealer will not pay me the difference of $6,000.00. But he will pay me anywhere from $2,000-$3,000. Plus it will be easier to sale my GT.

You know I hate say this but when I got the V6 I got it because I could not afford a GT. What other reason would I have to get a V6 rather than a GT. That is the only reason Ford produces a V6 and a GT. That way they can still sale the same car at those that canrt afford a GT.

This converstion has gone to trying to say that the GT is no good and/or not worth the money. All V6 owners deep down inside hate to admit and never will but they would love to have a GT just like I did when I could not afford it. I hated to admit it but it was the truth. Now that I own a GT I will never go back to a V6 unless my financial sitaution changes. You never know what can happen but I am very fortunate and greatful to be in the situation I am now.

V6 or GT who can afford one who can't. Who cares they are both good looking Mustangs. I wish I could get a GT but this years V6 is a good alternative.

CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!!!!!!

Wow, this thread is pointless. I bought a V6, so what? It's still a sweet ride. I could have afforded a GT, but the V6 works fine for me now and I save about $100 a month on it. I've had V8 Mustangs in the past, and even had a turbo 4 SVO. Still like my V6 '05. Buy what you like and can afford and let others do the same. And to the guy saying why not buy an Accord or Camry rather than a V6, are you kidding me? What an idiotic statement.

Both the Hemi Magnum 5.7L OHV V8 and the Ford 4.6L SOHC V8 made Autoworlds top 10 best engines this year. Ford has 65HP per liter compared to 60 HP per liter of the Hemi. They point to the refinement that went into this engine and the 40HP improvement over the previous 2-valve 4.6L. This is a 'special' engine well-blended for a great car.

...Anybody run against a 300C?

it has more hp than a 98 GT.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 94-98 GTs had 225 hp right, just as did my 94 T-Bird? 05 V6s have 210 hp, right?

191rwhp equats to about 225hp at the flywheel, and 255 ft/lb (at the flywheel) if you only use a 15% loss.

EDIT: Talk about underrated, thats a good margin.

94-98 Gt were and still are rated at 215 H.P. 87-93 were and still are rated at 225 H.P. and 93 I think Ford changed Camshafts and loss some horsepower

You know whats really sad and patheitic. Everyone is trying to prove which car is better. We are lucky to even have a car.

I found out Thursday that my uncle has cancer and that he has 6 months to live. We should all appreciate that we just good health. Now who has a better car, bigger engine more mods, etc. is pointless and rude. Everyone that belongs here is due to them loving there car and being proud of it.

I think this thread should end right here and right now.

I think it will be sad for anyone else to post which car is better at this point.

Just my opinion.

both cars are amazing, but you GT guys owe a lot to the V6's. Without the V6's, your GT would be costing a lot more, and there probably wouldnt be any Mustang without the existence of the V6.

I don't need to convince anyone period! As for passing trucks even by Taurus with a V6 could pass a truck on the highway. If you are going to argue with me then lets make it something sensible to argue about. As for as the Camary / Accord theory I ordered the Mustang as it takes me back to another era in time. Everyone buys there version of the mustang for different reasons. I do not need to justify my reason on this forum. If you want to beat your Tarzan chest about your GT go for it.

Of couse a GT will probably not bring 5-6K more when it is sold, but then again you get to drive one sweet powerful car until you decide to sell it. The acceleration up to 55-70mph is so sweet. I love on ramps to the local interstate now. Like I said in a previous post, if you drive GT and do not imediately know why you want one, you are an excellent canadate for a V6....

I personaly could not see buying a V6 because it's performance is not much ( if any ) different from the typical family sedan. If I want a "sensable" car, I would get one with a real back seat....

The one thing that I noticed is that the GT owners do not typically start posts bashing the V6 to justify their purchase, but the reverse ( as in this post ) is clearly not true.

Why do you V6 guys feel the need to try and minimize the GT to justify your decision to buy a chick car?

I don't have to read the whole thread to know it needs to be closed. Guys, we're all driving mustangs! As long as it has a running pony on the front, its still a Mustang.
