Sorry this is off topic, but will some explain to me how to do the quotes? I read the directions, I've done it before, but it just isn't working out for me anymore lol, sorry.

Hit the reply button on the bottom of the post you want to quote( it is at the bottom of every post, not the one at the bottom of the thread). you can still modify it but don't erase the lines of code that create the quote, you'll see what i'm talking about when you click the reply button.

I was going to get a v6, love the Pony badge in back and no emblem on the fenders, more than enough power for me, B U T we are going with the GT.
Since we had the choice we will gladly pay $5000 extra to have an America made V8 instead of foreign made V6.
The 70 to 0 MPH numbers and the skip pad G numbers Car & Drive had helped rationalized that choice and the 0 to 60 numbers didn't effect us. The GT is more than HP.

Here is my opinion, I hope it doesn't offend anyone. I couldn't buy a car like this with a V6. It's just plain stupid. I could think of a handful of sedans I would have purchased over a V6 stang. I don't care about insurance nor gas mileage. Buy a Honda if you look at those figures to consider purchasing car; you can't afford it. Lastly, a V6 Mustang is Feminine.

Gary - Please do get some pics up - especially for the custom aftermarket leather interior and dash treatment you referenced.
Yeah, that would be sweet to see.

Each time anyone brings up the topic of V6's vs. V8's I always try to remember that if not for the V6's, and the numbers Ford sells, there would be no Mustang to have V8's in.
The '05 has had a very high demand for V8's so far, but as the model ages I believe it is the V6 that will once again carry the Mustang to profitabilty.
To each his own. I like my GT, glad I bought one, I've been waiting for this car car for 20+ years. I've had my '89 5.0L 16 1/2 years, I hope to have this one 20+ also.
I personally have always preferred V8 Mustang's but I like all Mustang's, even the "dreaded" Mustang II's.
To me it's like this;
All Mustang's are nice, but the V8's are like a drug for Pony Car "junkies" like me, and I am addicted.

Dark Horse, if I had an Aerostar to go with my black 05 GT and my 89 LX 5.0L, we'd have the same vehicles! Your 89 isn't a dark blue coupe is it?

dont bash the V6, its the best perfroming base model stang in history. it has more hp than a 98 GT. be nice. the only flaw i find in the V6 is the wheel size, 16s just dont cut it any more, but hey, thats fixable. its a great bargain for the $$
and so is the GT. to the original poster: some people are more concerend with performance than others. its a fact :P
but hey, i hope you, and everyone esle for that matter, enjoys their mustang and i wish you and your pony well
PS-the 05 is also the best sounding V6 ever. :w00t:

Sorry, but anybody who thinks there is no place for a V6 Mustang is, well . . . never mind.
The two cars are vastly different, and appeal to different people for different reasons. By some people's logic, there should be no V6 trucks, no 4-cylinder cars when a V6 is optional, basically, all cars should be V8's? :bang:
Buy what you want, and what you like. I JUST don't get this mentality of bashing somebody because they drive a different car. YOU DON'T OWN IT, THEY DO!!!
Where would Ford be if there where no V6 Mustangs? Only in history books people.

sorrry bro, but i got a bit offended. the bold statement i must say is one of the most sexist statements i've heard in a while. there are plenty of women out there who love fast ground pounding beasts as much as the guys, and there are plenty of guys who think the V6 stang is good enough for them. i happen to be one of them, of course for me its cuz im 15 and i really cant afford my dream car yet, heck i cant even afford a V6 for $2K under MSRP lo. but my point is that it just isnt right to make these assumptions. that was a pretty lowly and ingorant comment. i really dont think that comments like that should be permitted without punishment. but ill leave that to the mods and admin

You are easily offended(and incorrectly offended if you look up the word feminine, in regards to charachteristics), hope you don't have a career in politics planned. The V6 Mustang is necessary for us because of it's sales volume. Would I buy one, heck no. I would rather buy a Honda Accord V6 or keep my Maxima. Both cars would mop up on an 05 V6. This is a performance car and IMO it deserves a performance orientated engine. The V6 simply doesn't fit that role.
