Today was a bad day, CS had no update/still offsite as of 6/6/10, got a letter from my lender thanking me for my purchase to remind me of my first payment which is due on 7/14/10 and got this from my dealer...



"It looks like this unit is on hold for a quality controlinspection/repair. Estimated release date is July 25th.

There are several stop ships on Mustang right now for avariety of quality control check and repairs."

I hope they're just trying to "manage expectations" with the prelonged ETA, I can't wait that loooong.

Nope. I pick it up today. In fact, I'm going over to stalk the dealer this morning and see if it's sitting in the lot before they open.

And I believe I'm going with "War Machine" by AC/DC as my first song because this purchase has been such a battle. . . That seemed better than "Love is a Battlefield" . . .

I am still at step 18 on jokerstars list have been for weeks my car has never left site or been to any of the ramps. Called CS yesterday at lunch they started with their upbeat oh great your getting the 11 mustang! Then she started to go through the normal your ETA is then she noticed it was that day. Oh well all cars are done with the hold and will be shipped by the end of June for sure. I dont know if they call your dealer after you call them. I have never gotten a call from my dealer ever and only get emails when I email them first. They are just stringing me along now hoping I stay around long enough for the car to come in. Very sad

UPDATE:

More zany antics with my stupid car. I talked to someone "inside" and they said that vehicle visibility is anywhere from 24-72 hours behind what's actually happening to your car. So despite my latest status of "sent offsite", he assured me my vehicle is ready and waiting to be shipped. I want to believe him, I really do.

Maybe it's that timing chain issue we heard about.

Got another update from the dealer, seems the car has an official ETA of June 26th now. Depending on how well things can be arranged I should have it Saturday night. Will depend largely on if the dealer and the bank can have everything prepped same day.

How exact is Ford CS' information vs what the dealer looks up? Are they looking at two different screens?

It's the same thing, I think. Ford CS CAN see location and date of update, but they will sometimes lie/refuse to tell you. Gotta call back till you get someone who will.




June-18 eta my butt. I won't even get it before 7/6 when my rebate expries.

Joker, you could still get it before 7/6. It's a long shot but it's possible if it moves this week.

I asked the dealer about the rebate expiration and just as Paul posted, even though the program might go to 9/1, the coupon expires when it expires. So I'd keep requesting them.

Mine expired 6/27. Took delivery 6/22. That was a little TOO close for my comfort. In the end, the $1250 off was a nice "bonus" which offset the loss of the 0% financing.

The AAI guy said that he thinks my car will ship some time next week and right now it's waiting to move out. I somehow don't believe him because my car just keeps bouncing offsite. For 30 minutes? Wtff.

Called CS said ETA July 10 ( to go 130 miles north)
called Doug at Autoport, said he could not give me any details
called dealer, said that the rep did not return his calls

So I have no idea why my car has an ETA 4 weeks after the build.

Mine is not even a GT or V-6 that were on hold.


So my guess is next week. You want to race?
