What did you do with your Mustang today?

Ahhhhh....first real drive day. Too windy and cool so the top stayed up. Had a few errands to run, and I needed gas. Somehow I must have forgotten where the station was and I drove around for 15 miles looking for it. Imagine that.
What could be cooler than on it's first official day out I should pull up next to a black '14 GT Coupe. Windows got rolled down, mutual compliments shared, and an exchange of exhaust notes were appropriate for the occasion. His were Roush ab's. I have GT500 ab's. He won.
We pulled out onto a 2 lane road, two black GT's pacing each other side by side for about a mile.
It was a good afternoon.

I spend a lot of time on the Weather Channel app that's part of my desktop. Every day. Several times. I plan my Mustang drives, detailing sessions, if I'm going to drop the top, etc around the 10 day forecast. I even go so far as to break down the hourly forecast predictions.
My car has seen rain just twice since I brought it home last May...and both times I got caught in sudden, unpredicted storms.

You're not alone. I think there's a lot of those people here.

I Have No Life
Few things.
Took wife on an afternoon date to watch Furious, and had folks ogle at her (ok, both wife AND Marilyn! Lol). I even had some guy in a Chevy truck start clapping his hands as I drove by normally. So weird. Dropped by a dealer selling a used viper, and all the sales folks started gathering around my car. Hilarious.
Emptied my Bob's can after 1000 miles.
Then made a new ringtone.

I dunno, snow and salt is one thing but some rain? I'm pretty neurotic but rain doesn't bother me. Then again if I had a garage I'd probably be nuts too.

Im not nuts, but I do want to keep the salt off my Mustang, but hey its that time again, time to go get it clean and then put it in the garage after the rain comes, though aside from not having the wax, the rain is good for cleaning the car, its natures car wash!!

I finally received the replacement tire I had ordered on-line. Got it installed and it made things a whole lot nicer. No more shake in the stearing wheel, it's just smooth as butter. Drove around town a bit with the family.

Had mine out of the Garage for the first time since November. I needed to get in the attic.
I need to get my act(car) together. My stickers still say they expire in '13...

I drove the 500 today for the last time before I go on vacation (Its supposed to rain everyday until I leave). It was great. Dropped it down into 2nd gear at about 40 mph and stood on it on the way back to the house with the traction control off. It laid down some serious black marks, lol, smoked the hell out of the hides.
Probably be sometime in May before I get to drive it again.

Drove over to MRT to pick it up - replacement engine is done after last year's catastrophic failure the first time I took it WOT after the turbo install.
Nice easy drive coming home, kept it out of boost until I can get it dyno tuned; no faith in the BBR supplied tune on the new engine. This is what we found in the oil pan of the old engine:
Chunks of piston skirt. Haven't done a tear down to see what all is damaged. Compression testing showed problems on 2 pistons, one on each bank.

Glad you got to enjoy your Mustang yesterday. Looks soon for me. Maybe next week or so.
