I was so tied up with work that I never got chance to get here but Happy Belated National Mustang Day! It really lasts all week though, doesn't it? at least it should!
Welcome aboard Mike! Thoughts and prayers for your own battle and we are here for you!
I can't believe no one posted anything here? Happy 60th Birthday to our beloved Mustang may there be many more!
Sorry, I've been busy! I have a super busy year this year. Two of my kids getting married (May and October) this year and one with a baby due in September.....first grandbaby for us (that we know of )! So that means bridal showers, wedding dress shopping, bachelorette weekend, baby shower, and then throw in two of my son's friends are also getting married this year. And also doing the flowers for both of my kids' weddings, all while working full time, doesn't leave much time for much else.
BFF should start her clinical trial in a few weeks. She is busy having what seems like all of her blood taken so that it can be sent to be cleaned, etc., then 3 rounds of chemo, followed by 10 days in the hospital having it put back. I absolutely hate that she has to go through this But she has a new grandson and now her daughter is getting married in November, so she has a lot to live for!!

First time mustang owner from Arizona. 2013 Boss 302. I love this incredible car.
Welcome, and continued wishes for your good health!
Took a field trip to Arlington National on Monday to lay flowers for the father in law (retired Air Force Master Sergeant) for his birthday. As many times as we've been there, I've never stopped to watch the changing of the guard from the top. Thankfully, we have a family pass that allows us to drive through (the grounds are huge!) so we usually just catch it from the bottom on a drive-by, but you can't really get a good view of it all.
Fall through spring the guard change is every hour, but spring through fall it is every half hour. I made sure this time we could park and take the time to walk up top to watch. We were lucky enough to catch a wreath laying ceremony for some Vietnam and Korean War veterans making the trip out of Colorado for their honor flight. They said this is the first year they haven't had any WWII veterans. But it was something to see. If any of you ever find yourself in DC, definitely make it a stop!
That's fantastic Jill. I can't even imagine how moving it would be to witness it in person.
It absolutely was moving, especially when they played Taps and they were all saluting. Gave me chills.
Talk about moving… we met survivors doing a signing at Pearl Harbor when we went in 2010. That was amazing! I can’t even put into words how moving Pearl Harbor is.
I've been to Arlington, it's a place everyone should visit if they can at some point. My old neighbor who passed about 5 years ago was a WWII Navy Vet...I loved to talk with him, definitely the greatest generation!
