Joe Cocker dead at 70
Published December 22, 2014
Joe Cocker, the singer and songwriter whose hits included “You Are So Beautiful” and "Up Where We Belong," has died of lung cancer, his agent, Barrie Marshall, confirmed to FOX411.
Cocker was 70 years old.
“Joe Cocker is a legendary artist of rock and blues history and yet he was one of the most humble men I've ever met," said Edgar Berger, who signed Joe Cocker to Sony Music Entertainment. "His iconic voice will forever be etched in our memories and our thoughts go out to Joe’s wife Pam and his family at this difficult time. Joe will live on in the hearts of millions of fans around the world.”
One of the most prolific artists of his era, Cocker released 40 albums over his 50 year career. The British-born superstar had his first No. 1 U.K. hit in 1968 with The Beatles' tune "With a Little Help from My Friends." He then took his tune to Woodstock in 1969, and it later became the theme song for the beloved family sitcom "The Wonder Years."
The Grammy award winner was known for a powerhouse raspy voice as well as his mesmerizing, convulsive on-stage delivery. Cocker's hits also included top songs like "Everybody Hurts" and “Ain't No Sunshine.”
Cocker received an OBE (Order of The British Empire) in 2011 for his contribution to music.
There will be a private memorial for the rock legend.
Cocker is survived by his wife, Pam, his brother Victor Cocker, his step-daughter Zoey Schroeder and his two grandchildren.

Big hair and mullets! I did see a few of both at the show on Saturday. They were filming a video for a new song while we were there so I'll have to keep an eye out to see if we made the cut, lol. I do see myself in this pic from their Fb page. If you look really, really hard and zoom in on the pink and yellow balloons all the way in the back, I'm just above the yellow balloon wearing a white shirt Attachment 166769
And have fun on vacation!

Planning on it....Moonshine tasting, good food...what's not to like?
A Man Just Needs Some....
Happy holidays TMSers.
Got off work yesterday, ready to start my vacation. Soon as I made it to my neighborhood I noticed a huge plume of black smoke. Went straight to investigate and found a house 1 block from me on fire. Stayed out there till 11:00 helping the local FD helplessly fight a fire that just wouldn't go out until there was no house left. Managed to save both neighbors houses and nobody was injured. Such a crappy way to start Christmas week. Really heartbreaking but the family is ok the whole community is coming together to help out.
Hope all of you have a happy and safe holidays.

I keep a water bottle outside to put mine in then throw it away when it gets full.

It's selling for $1.77-$1.78 a gallon (87 octane) in Crawfordsville, over near the Idionois border, not that anyone would want to suffer the boring drive over there to get any.

I went to Ole Smoky today. Tasted about 13 different ones. Its pretty good, but I have to admit, its not nearly as good as what I get in GA. or even down on the Gulf from my buddy down there. Its good, but its got a commercial taste to it, if that's the right word. Only way I can describe it. Its not as smooth as the homemade stuff I get.
Don't know why I'm posting this, Paul never checks in and he'll never know I'm literally right next door to him for the holidays.

Like most other stuff up here, you have to park and walk, but they do have a shuttle running through the parking lot over to the shops and stuff. There's a big lot off of Teaster Lane (if you are familiar with it) and the shuttles run through the parking lot. I parked close enough to walk easily, had to cross the river bridge, but it wasn't very far.

He needs to ride over the ridge down the parkway.
I never thought I'd see a Margaritaville here, let alone a Margaritaville restaurant and a Margaritaville Hotel. Hell, you couldn't even buy a drink in a restaurant 2 years ago.
Although it doesn't show in pictures, that Ferris wheel is over 200 feet tall, with over 1 million LED lights that display patterns and move with the music like the fountain below. Yeah, 200 feet tall, I'm not getting on that ****, lol.

15 years ago it was. Nowadays its really upscale for the region. Not to mention its family friendly, very accommodating to kids, stuff to do for everyone from shopping to amusement parks, to dinner shows, to restaurants, etc. and its clean as a ****ing whistle. You wont see so much as a candy wrapper or cig butt on the place.
I actually think your family would really enjoy it. One of the best aquariums in the world, beautiful mountains, Moonshine manufacturers , nice restaurants, go kart tracks, shopping, amazing cabins and lodges in the mountain sides, you name it, there is something for everyone, along with skiing and snowboarding slopes in the winter months. The place I stay is a local family owned place that has over 400 units spread out over several mountainsides. Everything from 1 bedroom cabins to townhouses, all the way up to 14 bedroom 5 story lodges with private pools.
Not to mention its at the edge of the Smoky Mountain National Park, the most visited National Park in America, much more than Yellowstone and other parks. And Cherokee (my people) NC is right on the other side of the Mountain through the park has Harrah's casinos and such on the reservation.
And hell, Paul comes here and so does David, and Scott. They all love it and I don't think they are dumb hillbillies, especially Paul. Hell, hes a yankee.

I actually love it up here. This will probably be the next place I buy a vacation home/investment property. Probably soon.
Not to mention the annual Rod Run, one of the best in the region.

My nuts hurt. Weird pain that I haven't had before. I have been in a "contest" with myself for about a week, trying to be master of my domain. Maybe that is it.

Dumping this Crown on top of the moonshine and tater juice was a mistake. That Crown really ****ed me up in the hot tub. Holy crap that stuff does crazy stuff to me.
Hey Paul, if I get up and get moving around tomorrow, I might go to Bullfish for an early dinner tomorrow afternoon by myself. Or maybe not, lol. Either way, they have always had really good food and service. Its not too snooty, but dress casual nice for you and the ol' lady, don't worry about the boy. Jeans and a polo are acceptable. There is usually a long wait, and they don't take reservations, but, you can call ahead and get your name put on the list. I usually do that about 30 minutes ahead and by the time we get there we walk right in to a booth ahead of everyone, lol, but they know us so that may make a difference.
