Why don't you just buy yourself a damned tv for your room and pay your dad for what an extra receiver costs a month? Its only a few bucks.

 

It's $6/month. I talked to my dad about it but he acted like I was nuts. I've about got him convinced to get a DVR but I haven't gotten "the word" that I can actually go ahead and order it. You can't order the DVR online though without adding it as an additional receiver. So maybe I can put the old receiver in my room and just pay for keeping it. But then my mom mentions putting a tv in our kitchen or the room we're building.
