For me (Canadian) whisky is the mainstay. Hunting trips with my dad growing up, his buddy's canteen was always laced with a bit of whsky. So that's why its whisky over ice - for that similar whisky/water flavor. Its like going home.

Gotta have vodka on hand for when my body needs some juice. lol And an occasional vodka martini.

Tequila is a must for Dirty Mary's (teq, clamato, worcestershire, tapatio, horseradish, lime) and something to chase cheap beer with.

The problem is I don't know what to do with rum. I don't like soda so rum & coke is out. So usually I get dark rum over ice (tastes like flat pepsi lol). What else do you do with it?
