Yup. Simplicity and reliability go hand in hand though. If I wanted high rev and hp I might consider OHC but in a truck application it just seems unnecessary. Plus the amount of chains, tensioners, guides, valve components that will all wear out in less time. The guides are plastic. Plastic! Lol

I still believe that a truck motor should have pushrods. Lol
Don't leave out the 300 I6. One of the best motors ever put in a light duty truck IMO. Damned near bulletproof.

They added extra iron with no extra displacement. Again: ship anchor.

Oh but all those bendable pushrods aren't extra parts? And leaky side cover gaskets (I6). Rockers are a wash because Ford's OHC's use them (Lotus didn't). Chains are chains. And what are those OHV cam gears made of? Plastic. Plastic!

The LS motors took care of that though. Really is a great design until they started killing cylinders for fuel mileage(what a mistake). The bottom ends are pretty indestructible. Never seen a bent pushrod in one. Couple broke valves because they just started using cheap valves. Almost zero oil leaks. Really did hit the mark with the LS.

Before this day ends, lets all take a moment to remember the great April fools day joke of 2012.

Ford V8's are on Ward's 10 best several times. Particularly the 4.63V.
Whereas GM V8's are pretty spotty. LS1 made it 1 yr. pfft

We can agree to disagree man. You buy Ford trucks and ill probably buy a Chevy. I probably will check out a couple Fords before I do though. Maybe a Harley crew cab if I see one. Just don't like that Harley crap all over them.

Hey - its a Ford site. Can't let you spew that gm crap without a (factual) rebuttal.
