A Man Just Needs Some....
So checking in here. Hottest day here this year. This dry windy heat is a joke. It was hotter on the subway train. BTW public transportation really really sucks. No way I could live here. On another note, I found out what happened to all the fireflies. The moved up north. They are everywhere here. Weird. Sears tower which is now Willis Tower is pretty impressive also. Hot Doug's gourmet hot dog house was the highlight of the trip so far.

We've got a lot of Chicago transplants down here with the new Cat plant that opened up. They buy them frozen from some place or bring them back when they fly up there. Wish I knew where to send you to.

I have 7 cars and its like I really only have 1. The R is a no-no to actually do normal driving in. Regan drives the Notch while the Bronco is down and the Vert is out of inspection and probably wouldn't even start. The Navigator is hers and has a car seat and a booster seat in it. Seven is well, loud. So I really only have 1 car to drive.

Hitting up the shed aquarium? That's about the only thing I remember from the trip I took up there about 16yrs ago. Well that and being in the observation deck of the John Hancock tower (like 90floors up) and watching the blue angles do thier air show from the air field right on the water. We got to watch most of it from above which was an awesome view

I feel your pain. I have four cars, but one is the wife's and I only have one that I regularly drive.
Drove down a street I havent been on going to Home Depot tonight. Passed a lot that sells chopped '50's models painted "suede" (dark grey primer). They had an Oldsmobile for sale and a '57 Nomad in progress. They were cosed so only a drive by, couldnt check it out. I think one of those would be an awesome alternate DD if it had AC. Have to get one in the garage before the wife gets back from summer break

The vert? Which one is that, the Fox body?

I wonder if she'd trade me for El Diablo.
Of course if the Bronco starts it'll be a bloomin miracle.

Then I saw how much that costs and since I was on a short timetable decided to get a reman long block and do some intake and exhaust upgrades for it so Regan can drive it reliably. Well now I have this left over block. The cylinder walls all look great and the block is good. So why let it go to waster when it can go in a Fox.
The crazy thing is someone had tried to change the gasket without pulling the motor I guess and did a crappy job of it. There was gasket material all inside the oil pump intake screen. No way this thing was getting the oil it needed.

I'd like to pull in and park that, in front of this....
Hey, it doesn't say you have to be driving it to park it there.
My uncle always had a bunch of cars that he wouldn't drive in the rain, etc. Always kept a new Silverado that he drove everyday and had a garage full of toys. Always remember him saying he was "car poor".
