There's an idea...I always bring a cooler and we usually visit the Amish market in Easton and get some stuff. I may have to go down to Annapolis Seafood market and get some real seafood...that's the only thing I miss because unless you go to the gulf all they have around here is pond food that they call seafood.

Well the crabs here aren't what I consider crabs...the crab legs are so small you think what's the point in even attempting to eat it....I had a discussion with a restaurant owner once and told him I missed seafood and he said "We have seafood"...I replied "No, you have pond food...Frog legs, catfish and whatever those tiny crabs are don't come from the SEA!"...he just looked at me. I long for a good thick Swordfish or Mako steak! I even had to introduce people to Old Bay down here...oddly enough the localy store sold it but few people knew about it.

Yeah Old Bay

Never used it

And blue crabs legs are worthless.

I'd say the gulf coast seafood diet revolves around shrimp.

Except for those mud bugs.

Yeah, Old Bay is definitely a staple around here. I don't know anyone that doesn't have any in the kitchen. We have it in the kitchen, the camper and the toy hauler. So good on fries, we make Old Bay wings and also corn on the cob. Pull the husk down, take out the silk, butter the corn, generously sprinkle it with Old Bay, put the husk back up, wrap it in foil and put it on the grill

You don't know what you are missing!

Blue crab is good, I grew up on it but it's a lot of work for a little food.

Not entirely true...there is much more than shrimp there.

I don't eat mud bugs either.

Lobster is rich, I'm not a huge fan but I love crabmeat...I just don't like to pick it.

I keep it on hand and use it in everything at times....I even did boiled peanuts in Old bay...They were great! I even had a local restaurant put a special container of it on the counter for me to put on my fries when I went in...then it caught on with many others who tried it.

Steamed crabs are definitely a lot of work for little food. I get tired of picking them before I ever fill up from them. Still worth the effort though

I like lobster too, but I do prefer crab. When we went to Vegas for our anniversary, we went to Emerils for dinner and I got this whole lobster, stuffed with the lobster, crab and shrimp. It was so good!

I mean hell, the word starts with "turd" - how good can it be?

I'm not a huge seafood fan either. As a general the only two things I really like are the fried shrimps (calabash and fantail) and some differing fish. I've tried lobster and crab and just didnt understand the fascination.

Crab to me is probably like grits to you. It's something that we've always eaten and have been taught how to pick them and eat them at an early age.
