Finally got around to cooking some of this...

Big patties, with just a splash of Dale's, and a sprinkle of garlic powder and onion powder. God these are awesome burgers.

Haha! The hubs fell asleep in the munchkin's room last night so Joe took that opportunity to cuddle for quite some time

Why does it have a "not for sale" tag on it?

Because its not commercially raised and isn't state or USDA inspected. Its home raised, slaughtered then processed for the owner of the animal and can't be sold commercially.

Very safe. You're over thinking it. Trust me, its a whole hell of a lot better (and better for you) than that **** you buy in a grocery store that's raised in mega livestock facilities, fed God knows what, and pumped full of unnatural **** to fatten them up as fast as possible to maximize profit. Not to mention much more humane for the animal.

Which animals do you think live a better life, these...

Or ones that are packed by the thousand in tiny little enclosures from birth until they are ready to be slaughtered?

I am a strong lover of this process. Great meat.

Fiend of families is a vet but also raises cows and other live stock. We get half a cow a year and it's friggin great. E takes care of his animals as if he was gonna eat it (and he does). Also as part f thier diet is home brew beer. Fattens em up right

Ya can't beat Dale's, I buy it by the case cuz you can't find it in the stores around here. I use it in burgers and as a steak marinade.

I'd like to try some meat raised that way.
