I saw that on fb. Too bad my kid couldn't have won and gone to Nationals. Oh well.

His mother and cousin went too, but drove separately so they could leave earlier in the day, so they had to drive back with her to get his spare key and then my step daughter had to drive him back up there. It's about an hour and a half drive each way.

Luckily it wasn't her keys. She only has one and has been too cheap to have another one made. Maybe this will be incentive enough for her.

Wasn't my plant. All good in the hood. That is the fear working in one of these places though.

My son hates wearing hats. I guess he'll have to get used to it in October.

I'm sure you know the term BLEVE and if your like me, the only way its a comforting thought is if your viewing it from about a mile away.

Scary stuff right there. I'm unfortunately on the fire brigade here. The fires are not what's scary in a chemical plant. Explosions and chemical releases are no joke for sure. No tank or rail car fires yet thankfully.

Oh for sure. I got hazmat A/O and thankfully never had to put that training to use. Only BLEVE i've seen up close was a 10lb camping propane tank in a house fire. When it went off, it took out a load bearing outside wall and a good chunk of the roof with it. Nasty nasty...

Blew one of those up as a kid in a dump site. Threw it in a fire and took off running. Got in a lot of trouble for that one.
Trying to score a trip to A&M training. Don't like the LSU facility at all.

I used to work at a pharmaceutical company, and though not at the same scale as a chemical plant, it can be scary working with some of the chemials involved. Especially the processes I was involved with.

Hey guys, what's new? I got my hours switched up at work so I've been sleeping a lot more, it's real nice

Finally have an appointment to get my leveling kit put on too, Friday morning at 11AM at a place called Off-Road Diesel and 4x4. I'm excited!

Yeah, that's the one. They've got some locations now farther north closer to you (Tuscaloosa, Montgomery) was just wondering if you knew of them. I've never been to those, but the ones in Mobile are really good. Every time I'm down there visiting family we always go, usually to the original location downtown. Its been there about 70 years, pretty cool place, and I don't even like oysters, but I like a lot of their other stuff. If you go, be sure to see the guys shucking oysters, its amazing to watch how good they are at it. I'd cut my friggin fingers off at they rate they go. I don't know if he's still there or not, but the one downtown used to have a guy that had been there for 40 years shucking oysters. I can't even imagine that kind of monotony.
