No real talent? I'd like to know what you consider to be talent.

Whatever real country music is, she never sang it. Nor did her daddy.

Kinda... I like country with rock mixed in, not just a bunch of twang.

County artists that are true to their roots, write songs based on it, and sing from the heart, not just "perform" the songs that are given to them by their record label and told how to "sell" it with pyrotechnics and costumes on stage. Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Charlie Daniels, Alabama, Randy Travis, etc.

Not saying there aren't some talented singers in country music now, but there are very few real artists, and even fewer songs that are anything more than revenue generators. There are singers out there could be great country artists if they would break out of the mainstream and tell the record companies to eff off, and do whats in their heart, not what gains celebrity status. I think its coming to that with the popularity and ease that the internet and other technology offers them to get themselves out there.

Okay so I have an update on the truck.

Today we went to Reynosa for a brake job (new brake pads and a disk cut on all four sides)

brakes perfectly with no squeaks and no vibrations

Most people I listen to do write their own songs, or at least most of them, and they do sing about things that have meaning to them. To me country music is about life, and that's pretty much what I'm seeing. What you're talking about sounds more like the pop industry, and not country, or at least the country that I know. I don't see how the people you listed are any different than country singers of today. Heck, isn't Charlie Daniels in a geico commercial now? I'm not trying to argue with you. I'm just having a hard time seeing how there aren't many true "artists" around any more, when most people I see in country music are.
