No it means that it just has to work harder that's why an amp gets hot when it's on, but 99% of head units and amps are designed for 4ohm systems, but they are built to compensate for the rise in resistence. Like mine the subs are 2ohm but they are wired in series bridged to one channel on the amp. It makes the amp think it's only pushing 1 sub, so both subs get the full power from the amp

On my commute this morning, some construction workers were doing some measures and markings in the street that passes in front of my house. An hour ago, I saw this...
Luckily, the water service on my side of the sidewalk is working.
