Internet is so slow. It's ridiculous. Took several attempts just to load this page and it's still not finished loading as I type this. Don't really know what it could be, but it's only getting worse. Could our modem be going bad or something? We've had it probably two years now.
And still loading...

Now why are you surprised? Most of you already know what I look like

Sorry I really don't know much about this type of stuff.
the modem is where the internet comes from...kind of... it turns your phone line into the internet
a router.... sends the internet places...
phone jack...to the modem....to the router...which broadcasts a wireless signal for your wireless device.

Ok, I feel dumb now. I know they're not the same thing, but I was still confused.

How do I find out what's wrong? I've reset both the modem and router multiple times. I don't know if one of the two has gone bad, or if it's the lines. We've had a ton a rain lately, and things have gotten iffy in the past when it's rained alot, but never this bad.

I knew it was my router and not my modem because my desktop could access the internet with no problems when I wired it directly to the modem.

I'll have to try that and see what happens. My mom said our phone is really scratchy though so that makes me think it's the lines.

Still really slow connected directly to the modem so it isn't the router...
are you using the filters that likely came with the modem/router that plug into the phone socket , then your phone ? need a picture of one ?
