If I want to amplify a component system, I would want a 4 channel amp, or a 2 and get a mono amp for the sub when that comes later?
I'm sorry for bombarding you all with questions, please don't be annoyed

That sounds right. With the 4ch, you could power the components with the two front channels, and bridge the two rear channels for the sub. I did this originally in the notch, and it worked nicely. You could also get a 2ch amp for the components, and a mono for the sub. 4ch amps are usually class AB, which runs hotter and is less efficient at delivering power, while mono amps are usually class D, which runs cooler, and is more efficient. Just another thing to consider.

Woohoo I got something right
I think this Kenwood amp would work with well with the Sony component speaker I'm thinking about. And while I don't have a sub I should be able to bridge both the tweeters and the woofers for some good sound, yes?

You wouldn't need to hook up the tweeters and woofers separately. (I think that's what you meant?) You could bridge both channels for the speakers, but you'd be overpowering them by over twice their rating. You could also hook them up to both the front channels, and bridge the rear for a sub, but 130wmrs isn't much for a sub. Are you planning to buy everything from crutchfield, or are you gonna try ebay?

This is $120 on ebay. http://www.crutchfield.com/s_113KAC8...04.html?tp=115 I have the mono version of this amp, which I hated at first, but am now very happy with. It used to cut out a lot, but now it goes on forever. The best thing I would recommend for you would be this amp. It's more than I think you want to spend though. http://www.crutchfield.com/s_107PA50...-4.html?tp=115

I see what you mean now, and you're right, I'd kill the speakers like that. I'm using crutchfield for most of my learning, but if I can get a better price, I'll go ebay.
Ok so it doesn't seem a 4ch amp would benefit me here, because of the speakers I plan to have and my price range... When wiring to an amp, is each speaker a channel, or is it each type of speaker that's a channel?

Crutchfield is usually overpriced, they have to have some way of paying all those tech people. I find stuff I like that fits my car on their site then go elsewhere to buy. I found my Premier on their site a couple years ago for $279, then went to wal- mart and bough it for $219. And yes the wal-mart's here sell Pioneer Premier

As long as that kenwood amp can be that price around christmas time, that'd be awesome! And would work with the sub
I like this ebay idea lol
Everything I want is on ebay for quite a bit cheaper, except the HU. Sweetness

Thank you Nathan
So if I want 4 speakers amplified, I want a 4ch amp? Makes sense...

It was sunny in the morning, but got cloudy as the day went on. No rain though...yet.
