I had the exact same thing happen to me. I had to finish 18 months later. It actually happened for two classes, but one professor was nice enough to give me independent study while the other refused. So I came back after two semesters off and finished the class. Thanks to that it looks like I took 6 years to finish school.

When I was a Frosh in college I had like $7 in my account once. Or at least I though I did. I actually had $6.50 because the bank took $.50 when I had made an ATM withdrawal once and I had not figured that in my balance. So I order a pizza and write a check for it for $6.75 or so. The check bounces. I have to pay the pizza place $6.75+$20.00 for the returned check and the bank $20.00. So it was a $46.75 pizza.
The pizza sucked.
