2015 Gt premium squealing front brakes

Has anyone had any issues with the front brakes squealing on the 2015 Gt premium? I took it to the dealer and had them scuff the rotors but it's still squealing at low (parking lot) speeds.

I had this with my 2012 on a rear brake. It started at about 3k miles on the car and it ended up being a broken brake clip.

Yeah I've tried a few hard stops. Seems to have worked for the time being. Also tried some spray on the rotors and did a few normal stops. Just afraid that it'll be back. Thanks for the advice.

if you're using it as a DD car, give it a couple of weeks. Drive it naturally. The brakes should "break-in" naturally and stop. if it doesn't, yep, take it back nothing more annoying than squeaky breaks.

My wifes Santafe has about 24k on it now and they are starting to squeak..... very annoying.

Fortunately it's not a daily driver so it'll take a few weeks to break them in. If not then yep, I'm going to bring it in. Never had any problems with ford service so we'll see. Thanks

It's hard to drive normally, I think I loosened up an exhaust shield or something

I have had my 2015 mustang GT premium for about 3 weeks. And the squeal of the breaks started about a week ago and is getting louder. I took it back to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong with the breaks but they still squeal loudly! ( I feel like they were treating me like a "dumb girl") I have noticed if I slam on the breaks it doesn't squeal. But if I slow down they do. How long will this last? I never had this problem on my 2005 mustang SDS.

The anti squeal works for a few miles and then starts back up. This will be the 4th time mine has been in the shop for the front brakes. They are supposed to replaces the pads and machine the rotors. Brand new car...sounds like a freight train stopping.

What I recommend, is find out from your dealership if there's going to be a TSB for the brake pads..

I had the very same issues with my previous 05 GT, and Ford replaced my brake pads under the TSB revision..

The problem was in the brake pad linings themselves and after the dealership replaced them with the new revised pads, I didn't have any more break squeal issues afterwards !

Hello Christina Dugie,

Welcome! My name is Deysha with Ford Service. I know we know more than the guys and they don’t like to admit it, but for now let’s get this escalated to the customer service manager for your area. Please PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number.

Did you get the standard or brembos? Mine continues to get worse as I wait for parts to come in.

My I suggest you consider an extended warranty. I just got a 15 myself. I got the Ford warrany 8 years 75000 miles for $1700. It is bumper to bumper except for normal wear and tear. This is a new model and could have issues down the road.

Yeah. Got it till 100,000 miles. Brakes are fixed by the way. New pads did the trick.

I bet it was the brake pad linings that were bad ? As I had the same problem on both my 05 and 06 GT..

Yeah. The dealership wouldn't say. They just said they are done diagnosing and replaced them per Ford. I might add that they never heard the squealing yet I heard it every time I got in the car.

More than likely, it's the same issue they had with the 05-14 Mustangs concerning the brake pad linings..

I had my pads replaced on both my 05 and 06 GT under Ford's TSB with the revised brake pads and haven't noticed any break squeal issues since..

In the meantime, it shouldn't be much longer till we start seeing TSB's coming out for the 15's..

Anyway, I'm glad to hear that your dealership took care of your brake pad issue for you
