The car is not stiffer as I can feel, plus that was my first time on that track. I doubt any normal driver would feel a difference on the street. I only installed the bar to have the belts, while I am no expert I found myself fighting to stay in the seat the last few times out.

The Torsen is very loud, I have no trunk mat, rear seats are out and that was fairly loud but now without the interior quarter panels that thing screams. All music to my ears, maybe I should sell the radio since I never use it

scott, OT here, but hows the tranny doing? you were having the same pedal sticking issue i was. they get you fixed up? if so what was the verdict?

back on topic, that roll bar with the removable harness bar is very intriguing to me. i have kids that are in the back seat of my car every day. from eyeballing it, it looks like if i had that bar and pulled the cross bar it would barely interfere at all with the back seat for the kids. man i wish you had a shot of that with the panels and back seat installed. i would love to see what it was like fully dressed in the back. do you think people could use the rear seat without getting hurt with the cross bar out?

They had to order the pressure plate, it should go into the shop soon. It was delayed due to waiting on Ford to decide what to do, getting the parts and my schedule. It is, as you know, very intermittent and did not happen at Daytona.

Without being liable for your kids I would say it can be done with a high degree of safety. The main hoop is forward enough and hugs the side and roof line so I think it would be very hard to have contact in an accident. Even so you should pad the main hoop, just in case.

I did not reinstall the back panels, for me at this point I did not see the need to cut them up. It make the car look meaner anyway, like the black surround from grille The Torsen noise is another issue you would have to deal with. Besides they must weight a pound each, every little bit helps catching up to Gary

The two attachment points for the harness bar are rounded off but do stick out, I will try to take some pics but with kids at stake I would think about making some kind of cover for them. Still doubt it could cause harm in an accident but they may contact them jumping in and out.

If this is really the problem it will be something like a warped or grooved plate, I doubt it has anything to do with the bolts backing out.

Yes, you would need to pad them also but they are not in the way (JMO). The side bar that is out in the open is directly above the armrests not inside of them. They curve in some toward the main hoop but too far forward to be dangerous. I did not reinstall the rear seats or side panels so it may be best to ask someone who did. I don't want to give out bad info but from what I have seen it can work safely for backseat passengers.

Roll bar is done

A friend of mine came over today and helped me finish up my roll bar. It came out really good. He has a brand new Sparco race seat that I'm going to buy from him since he decided not to put one on his passenger side. We'll work on installing the harness lap belt and sub belt eye bolts next. I may try to get it in for the hood next week if the weather cooperates. We got about an inch of snow yesterday but it's mostly gone from the main streets and they didn't have to salt. Here are some pics. Sorry about the low light, but it's trapped inside the garage for now......

Looks great, good job Did you trim the top of the rear panel on the seat delete or did it come like that? I remember seeing pics of two pieces sticking up where the headreats were. I do like that bottom much better then mine

Also love the look of that bar and may have gone with it if I had looked closer at pictures of the cross brace. I am not unhappy with the removable bar if I ever need to work back there but without passengers ever being in the rear seat it looks like that one is a better choice.

That's just how the rear seat delete is made. I think that picture on their site is an older version. It fits really well and is a very simple install. I'm hoping it keeps the rear end noise to a minimum and really turns it into a two seat sports car Thanks for the compliments.
