So is the Red key an option or not? This info says optional, but the Ford video featuring the key implied it was standard equipment.

 

I would venture to suspect that the actual Red Key itself might be included, and until you purchase the additional tune from your dealership, would only start the car in its normal manner. The TracKey tune is what you are actually purchasing. But I don't know. Just speculating.

 

That is the way I understand the key - you get the key itself but to make it do something, you need to purchase the tune that is loaded into the computer as an aftermarket item.

 

FWIW, I ordered my Boss today, and although the dealer knew about the red key, he had no idea if it would come with the car or not. Also, there is no place on the order screens to order anything to do with the key or the additional PCM tune. Also, just so everyone knows, there is also no place to order the brake ducts for the regular Boss, so it must be strictly a Ford Racing Parts item.
