Where are you hearing that, any sites or did you local dealer tell you? That price does not sound too bad. I had my dealer write the track key into the contract when I bought it. I guess they assumed it was just the cost of any regular key so they did it without knowing the price.

It sounds about right for just the software "tune". I think the Red Key itself is included with the purchase of the vehicle. Since they are only either "activating" the program that is latent in the PCM, or downloading it to the PCM, it makes sense compared to the cost of other after-market "mail order" tunes. As far as I can tell, we're not getting any hardware like a handheld Pro-Cal tuner with the Red Key tune.
I dunno, but hopefully it doesn't break the bank. All Red Key, All The Time!

Has anyone seen photos of either a white or red Boss yet? Even a PS would be fine. I have the photo of the red one from the final NASCAR race but I'm looking for something better. I ordered a Kona blue but red would be my second choice.

We are taking preorders for the 2012 Boss 302 Mustang. We have seven allocated, and three are already spoken for. Be one of the first in the country to own one of these. It is Capital Ford in Raleigh NC who is offering this opportunity for ordering these cars. The vehicles will be built somehwere between January and March. The actual price will depend upon features, but it will be somewhere in the mid 40's.
There is a very limited number of these being made. We are willing to sell this cars at MSRP. There is no dealership mark-up.

If any is still looking there is a high volume dealer in south Florida called Mullinax Ford in Palm Beach. I have not called them but understand they they are not asking over MSRP and may have some LS's. There is another dealer called Wayne Acers Ford in Palm Beach, they should also have some LS's but were asking 1K over for a Boss in Nov when I asked.
I got mine from Sunrise Ford in Fort Pierce and they sold the only LS they had at MSRP. They have 2 more Bosses for MSRP, Hank Basile is the internet guy there if anyone is interested.
Edit never mind I called Mullinax, they told me 5K over on the LS.

Looking to be part of the pack soon hopefully within the next 3 months. Very fond memories with my high school buddy's 84' GT350 and 429 SJC; also my other friend's 65' Fastback racing IROC-Z'S on the back country roads. 20 years later, here we are. I figure if the world and the economy is going to sh*t, might as well go out with a bang.
My daughter likes the Kona and the CO. She says to "get the blue one so when you're in trouble, you can blend in with the dark."
