I thought this was on the 5.0 bc I heard someone mention that it would be hard to bore it out to 5.2 or more L

I know the 4.6 could be uped to 5L

Sorry my bad, thanks for the correction.

The 5.0 uses iron liners, but they are so thin that overbore isn't practical.

Here is a press release that gives an overview of the new engines.

Just to put it to bed, there WILL be a 2012 GT500.

As for the ADMs, I think these are an absolute joke. I refuse to buy anything above MSRP, if that. If dealers want to fleece the ignorant, there's nothing we can do about that. To protect ourselves, the best thing I can suggest is to show your dissatisfaction for any ADM and go elsewhere. Speaking with your wallet carries weight, and will show Ford through sales numbers the dealers that value service and integrity in their sales.

It's just a shame Ford can't/won't do anything to put a stop to that.

I honestly don't have a clue about that. It would seem quite probable though that some high volume dealer with lots of influence will be able to get more than their fair share, money talks.

From the memo:
Note: The Laguna Seca Package will be allocated by a second lottery for all dealers earning a Boss 302 through Share of Nation or Lottery.
It doesn't say that quantities will be limited to one per dealer, as was done elsewhere in the memo, so it is still possible that a dealer may get more than one, but by lottery only. So how likely will that be?...

Revisiting my previous post speculating on quantities, it's been quoted elsewhere that Canada gets 350 Boss'. Typically Ford gives us 10% of what the US gets, so let's say that the US gets 3500 cars.
75% of those go to ~800 dealers, the other 25% will be allocated among the remaining dealers, one per dealer max. 25% of 3500 is 875 cars. So there will be about 1675 dealers participating in the LS lottery.

So if there are, say, 300 LS' produced. There MAY be one or two dealers that get two, but it will be extremely unlikely that a dealer in your area does.

i would agree there will be a 2012 GT500, the deal supposedly expires in 2011 but that is fiscal 2011 which is the 2012 model year for the mustang now that they are running a year ahead of time. i could see there being no 2013 as they sell down the last units in anticpation of an all new lineup for 2014.

Ford, are you listening? Do you want me to buy a new car or a used car? It's up to you.
Agreed. If the price is above 38k MSRP I'd much rather prefer just to mod a GT.

I'm really hoping to get one on X-Plan as well...gotta try my local dealers and get a deposit down, or dealers in Vegas or Cali. I'm hoping that ordering a BOSS will take the BS out of any X-Plan complaints vs. trying to buy one already on a dealer lot.

It would be great if Ford allowed X plan, but somehow I don't think they will.

Hey, what do you know? I agree with you about something! Hurray! Your statement is probably 100% accurate.

Okay, so your math makes sense and is likely very close. So the top 794 volume dealers in the USA will share roughly 2700 regular Boss 302's. That averages about 3 per each of the big dealers, but many of those dealers will only get 1 or 2, freeing up more than 3 for the really, really big dealers in the southern states (who may get 5+ if they're really big like Galpin or Brandon). I suspect that the dealership I work for will probably get just 2 of the regular Boss 302's based on these assumptions.

So, the 2000 or so smaller dealers that are hoping for one of the 800-900 remaining Boss 302's that will be lottery cars can't really count on getting one at all, since it's worse than a 50/50 chance for them. So, I certainly hope none of them accept deposits from customers until they know for sure.

For a loaded Canadian convertible it is: 69 450$ including delivery.

Sorry if someone already mentioned this, but ADMs have nothing to do with Ford. It has everything to do with your dealership. And I wish ford would realize this and adjust their numbers with demand so everyone will be happy.

On the 2012 shelby, why do they even need an aluminum 5.4? How hard can it be to put a Ford racing supercharger on a Boss engine? Same horsepower less weight. And I have plenty of time to do this if Ford wants to hire me.

You might want to go back and re-read the press release on the first page of the BOSS thread

You will have added back the weight of a supercharger (100lbs or more) thereby increasing the front weight bias.
