What DON'T you want to see in the next gen Mustang?
Frankly I don't even know if Lincoln is still a viable brand? When Ford killed Mercury they were doing better than Lincoln is now.
On a somewhat related note if Ford were to drop some coin on a mass produced mid-engine corvette/viper competitor, why not just buy the Pantera moniker, especially if it was supposed to be Lincoln product(although the cynic me figures they would just swap ends on a MKZ and **** that up to). No need to reinvent the wheel here and they could cash in on the car's history.
Ideally, within safety-design constraints, I would prefer wide-open window vistas, narrow pillars (as possible), and low cowl and beltline heights. As for the beltline height, I would apply the window-down cruise test: with the window down, can I cruise on by with my elbow out without incurring a visit to the orthopedist's office to repair my shoulder?
If I wanted to drive a gun bunker, I'd put wheels on a gun bunker and drive it.
Ditto, big time! I really dislike the au currant design schtick of gun-bunker greenhouses and Urkel'esque beltlines, especially in a performance car that ought to be all about communing with the road and outside world, not hiding away from it.

Part of the reason for the gun slit green house is due to the size of the cars. If the designers would have utilized more traditional proportions the roof line would have been taller and adding visual bulk.
I'm not sure why the window base is so much taller? It could be for safety or the same reason for pinched roofs.

I dont want to see no automatic option in the top dog be it gt500 or whatever they decide to call it. The 6 speed auto has certainly proved to be strong enough and some with people with medical reasons would still be able to drive the big dog.
I do not want to see threads about "wiper blades" or "oil" or "cheap plastic" or "not my old bmw" or "mt82" or "lemon" or "sync is hard to use" or "MFT is hard to use" or "its hard to drive in snow and rain" or "im 16 and my dad bought me.." or pretty much any of this now metal cry baby sissy stuff I have heard of the past 1.5 years.

And do you, or don't you want an automatic??
His post was very confusing and contradictory. I don't either. Every ZL1 I see is an auto. Most SS's too. Hell, now that you can get the Brembo package with an auto, most GT's I see has autos as well.
it's from the dealers ordering them that way though. That's all there is on the lots. I can understand it from a medical standpoint, and I honestly get so tired of traffic in this area and driving a manual, but I still wouldn't have it any other way.

An IRS equipped Mustang should be equally at home in the twisties as well as the drag strip. Drag racers should not be required to back halve their cars just to run comparable times to the current car with a lightly modified suspension.
Ford's primary competitor has mastered this with its IRS, the Mustang should be no different.
Oh, I'll complain aplenty if its not as reliable or more reliable than the current log axle. Progress is great but not when it comes with a glass jaw.

Allow me to introduce you to the Australian produced, IRS equipped Ford Falcon.
And they get a supercharged 335 Boss version.
People who are even considering complaining about IRS are just old people who hate change. They want to keep their outdated 60 year old pickup truck rear end, no matter how obviously better the alternative is.
