I don't care much for it, but maybe with different wheels it would look better? Definitely will not be tempted to get rid of my Bullitt to get one.

The whole 5.8 carryover argument is irrelevant anyway. It's almost certain there will be no GT500 out of the gates anyways. We won't see an SVT model until at least 2016. By that time the new powertrain will be ironed out. There won't be a need for a special model the first year. The hype of an all new car will be enough. Special editions always come later to boost sales when interest and demand starts to wane after a year or two.

Well AM is passing on the German Ford sourced engine for a new AMG unit. So why not a V12 Mustang. I'm in.

But can Ford afford to let the Camaro Z 28 and Zl1 go without having cars to compete with those? It would be only a year or two gap though. It is all interesting.

Go test drive a Focus ST. The ecoboost engines don't have that pssshhh sound because the air has already been metered so it needs to stay "in the system". It can't be vented to the atmosphere or the computer gets confused.

Granted a turbo 4 will never sound like a V8, but it's not going to be like the evos and STI's you are fearing.

This is usually the case but in 2010 Ford put a warmed over 2007-09 5.4 in the new body. In the past Ford continued making SVT products during the first year of a new body style 2005 really was the only exception.

1994 had an SVT, 1999 had an SVT, 2010 had an SVT. As a previous poster mentioned Ford has real competition now unlike 2005-09, perhaps they need to have an SVT in the lineup for 2015?

Keep in mind the outgoing Boss had 440hp without DI. With DI and a little more rpm I don't see how 500hp is not doable.

I would love for Ford to build a 100hp/Litre normally aspirated V8.

I am going to try and bookmark this thread. So all the ones who say they hate it and end up buying it we can call them out on it.

This car is going to rock...I believe that is pretty much what the car is going to look like. Definitely looks like a Mustang but more sexy and with a little more European flair.

I agree. I cant imagine SVT not being ready for 2015 with all the competition trying to catch up....plus some of the spyshots seem to hint at some sort of SE? GT? SVT? SVO?
I would love to see the 5.8...but I dont see how the Trinity is going to fit
into this new platform....but after what SVT accomplished with the 13/14....Im optomistic.
Cant wait!

Aston managed to squeeze it into the little Vantage.

Call it the P51 option!

Two-stage geared, intercooled supercharger along with fuel injection (of a sorts), all aluminum construction and a 4-valve overhead cam design -- some pretty contemporary stuff for an engine designed well over half a century ago.

I've always argued that a V12 Stang halo model would make for a VERY interesting and distinctive model, and of course the P51 designation would be a no brainer. However, extremely unlikely to ever happen. A shame.

Im sure someone from SEMA will get their hands dirty with a custom one-odd P51 Mustangs edition.

I do recall seeing a video where someone actually did stuff an AM V12 into an S197 Stang -- sounded glorious!

No need for DI really, Something akin to the Cobrajet Intake and the ability to spin the 5.0 a little harder is all that's needed.

It does look extremely hideous. I hope it looks better in person and/or these pictures aren't accurate.

I thought Ford had a hard time getting 412 horsepower from the 5.0. They had to build the funny looking exhaust manifolds to finally get it? I 'think' DI is good for 30-40 horsepower.

Do you all think Ford can get 500 horsepower from the 5.0? In the old days it took two 4 barrel carbs to get 425 horsepower from a 7L engine. Just an early morning thought....
