What's not to love about a 92-93 Notchback?

Lowered with some good wheels

Gives me wood

The car still looks awesome I think, but it is not as revolutionary and bad *** as thought it would be. Hopefully my generation is more open to changes for future Mustang redesign.
Well I just happen to be one of those old farts you refer to.. However this old fart isn't closed minded when it comes to change nor do I expect Ford to recreate or attempt to re-copy the original design of the 1st generation Mustang..

But the Mustang has been and should always remain as a Pony Car and keep its long hood and short rear deck formula as it has for nearly 50 years..

As I want to see the Mustang continue to have it's own unique style and identity that says American.. As I'm so fed up with cars looking so identical to one another that you can't even tell them apart..

The Porsche 911 is a perfect example as it's evolved and changed with the times, but it's still instantly recognizable as a 911.. As the car has kept it's overall design shape pretty much the same as it did when first introduced..

And so should the Mustang as well !

This has been mentioned before about appearances. Ford is going European and if that means losing older/traditional customers well so be it because they will gain a newer customer base. In the end Ford will do what Ford has to do to be a viable business. Either way we will probably still like the car just BECAUSE we are all Mustang wing nuts! :-)

I'm all for the Mustang moving forward, just as long as it remains recognizable as a Mustang by keeping it's design cues such as the long hood, short rear deck, tri bar tail lights and so forth..

And so far, I happen to like the latest C&D renderings although I would really like to see hips similar to the current 10-14 Mustang along with a full fastback profile as well !

In fact non Mustang enthusiasts mostly GM fanboys would always mess with me saying you call that a Mustang lol.. Your car looks more like a Ford Escort with Mustang badging on it..
Umm...no.

The Mustang is an American icon, not a European one.. And from my understanding those from the U.K want it to remain as such as well which is why the Mustang has appealed to them through out the years is because of it's unique American styling and pony car heritage !

The vehicles I posted earlier were all based and part of the Fox body platform, including the Ford Fairmont !

That would make sense as the Tempo may not have been part of the Fox platform, as it came out afterwards, but thought it eventually became part of the Fox family in the late 80's..

Technically the Ford Escort was first introduced in 78 before the Fox platform made it's debut in 79, but in the late 80's thru early 90's you could clearly see styling elements from the Fox platform take shape on the Escort..
