Front fascia caught uncovered during testing 8/20
Again the resizing meant due to the slightly different angles and distance the two shots were. I did not I repeat did not reshape. and I do not believe I said I cut anything from the shape only that I cut from thew picture. Geeezzzz I give up.. I know from working a photo editor for years what a match is...
Chevy redesigned the Malibu & Impala with styling cues from the Camaro.
Porsche BMW & even Ferrari are building 4dr cars that resemble their coupes that already exist.
Ford did it a little backwards here..
No one would be complaining if the Fusion did not come out first. If the Fusion came out after the Mustang, everyone would be marveling how the Fusion has the Mustang front end.
Oh and the dang GT500 had a catfish grille opening in 1968 but no one ever complains about that! Matter of fact you can see some continuity of the 68 nose in the 2015 Mustang, including the brow over the headlamps reaching to the upper corners of the grille opening.
What we are going to see is the MOST aggressive interpretation of that language in the mustang and other takes on it in the fusion, focus, fiesta etc etc based on their role in the model hierarchy and target customer.
Personally i like the direction they are going in, based on the interviews with FORD execs out there, the limited amount of the car we have seen in these spy shots and the general profile of the camo, I have no doubt the car will look distinctly mustang, but I also like that now it will look distinctly ford as the same time, I do not believe those two concepts are mutually exclusive as some here do, I think that will only improve recognition and reception of the brand as whole.
I think the front looks good, but I am worried about the rear. Heck, even the rear on the Focus seems disconnected from the front. Reminds me of all Jags up to the current F-Type...beautiful front and side profiles let down by a poorly design integrated rear. Only mid-nineties Mazda really understood the importance of a good rear end. If Ford steals anything from Aston it should be their recent rear end designs. Heck, Porsche and Audi have.
Hopefully it'll be a new SVT cue. They look great on the GT500.
I'd love to see the Boss Quad-side exit make a comeback or option on V8s
more muscular since its slimming down and losing weight etc and a
4 inch tip may be the max size on this new platform.
