Very nice, I could see this starting to approach a 2015 Stang. Add a "C Scallop" and bump up the rear haunches a bit, extend the nose a touch and voila, I'll bet you're getting close to a 2015 Stang.
Yes, it would look a touch more Continental than the current Stang to appeal to a Continental/international market beyond the basically domestic-only market focus of the current model. However, I imagine that it will still retain strong Mustang design DNA ques, if rendered in a more fully modern and global interpretation.
Do remember that the original Mustang concept started as a mid-engined, two seat V4 sports car and even the original production model was bit of an amalgam of Euro coupe and American stylistic themes. The side profile was actually a close take off of the Lincoln Continental of a few years prior. So interjecting some more European/Global design themes would not be a dilution of the Mustang's stylistic DNA as it would be a return, thematically, to its origins.

The 2015 Mustang is going to be designed as an Anglo-European pony car. The nose has to be pedestrian friendly and small enough to be able to drive on European roads. Just think Mustang II and add 12" inches to the length and 4" to the width.

Anyone else think its gonna look very similar to an Aston?
Think back to the 77 v8 vantage and then look at 65-70 mustangs. Very similar designs, which means Aston got many ideas from Ford. Fast forward to 2015 and i think its gonna be the other way around. I believe the next gen is gonna be very Vantage-esque in both design and finish of the car both inside and out

Its a global platform now so its gotta appeal to every generation in every country. Target group will of course be the average buyer rangin from 18-50 yrs old so very broad group still. Heres my wishlist
American Design
Euro features (larger brakes, functional scoops ducts and vents, etc,.)
Japanese quality finish with interior items. Nicely stiched upholstery, nice materials, tight and taut consoles and dashboard with enough tech to satisfy tech-heads but simple enough for grandma to figure out

What they should do is give it the front end of a gt 500 concept like this
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ng-concept.jpg
and the side styling of a 370z to give it that fastback look
http://www.dreamroad.us/wp-content/u...370Z-Coupe.jpg
I sort of see those 370s as what a modern muscle car should look like (funny though because it itself is a throwback). As in not a retro. And this rear end.

But of course have mustang cues, like the curve behind the door and trilights and the whole aggressive front end. I mean imagine a 370z with the front end being the current gt, and instead of those lame tail lights have some sort of sequential mustang look? That would make the car mostly mustang but give it the good fast back look and also keeping it modern. Throw in some IRS, and combine that suspension with a 5.0 and you get a beast.
I know a lot of you won't like the idea, especially since they're the competition. but I try to keep open minded.

I agree with the suspension and functional scoops and vents. Nice interior too. But exterior needs to scream red white and blue with a bald eagle ripping your face off!
