I agree 20115.0 that does have some awesome design cues. The roof line is awesome I think. i like the tail too.

Considering the SN-95 Mustang was indeed a reworked Fox platform it retained the basic scale of the Fox Mustang.
I agree with many of your points. I do, however, think the CTS coupe is an attractive design, in the same simplistic wedge/angular style the foxbody Mustangs were. My only point in making my previous post was to put the idea out there, if we're being told that "retro is out" in the sense that we won't see 64-70 or 05-14 traditional Mustang design language, it is possible we could see a return to that wedge design. With the talents we have on this site, I don't think it'd be much work to transform the CTS into a modern/futuristic interpretation of the foxbody design.

Even the images in Moosestang's most recent posting contain echoes of the Mercury Capri in the front end with the quad headlights and squarish grill... Clearly the foxbody language, simple as it may be, is not dormant.

Along those same lines I see a lot of an evolved fox in my current car, Pontiac G8. There was even a 2 door concept a few years back that in my opinion could have been direct descendant of the fox, even the tail lights had a modern take on classic Mustang design. I have been a fan of the fox's and would not be against a car that follows more of a modern take on what the fox was in it's time.

I came across this artist rendition. The rear is so sexy. I would kill if Ford made this.

If anyone can photo shop that, i would appreciate it. With a realistic pic.

That's pretty much a cartoon of the '13 GT500.

Except its wider, a little longer wheel base, lights are inset exhaust is a little difference.

Would be nice of they use the Aston Martin frame to achieve that.

Nice, if a little "soft". Needs the rear wings to have more of an edge to them....

I agree with TT. Plus I'd like to see each tail light actually be seperated like in the stang TT posted. Not the visual trick the 2013 uses...

There is always something about the original form that makes it impossible for anything newer to live up to it..

Nice work TN. Very Euro looking ah la Audi BMW. Most of all the proportions are right. Rear window looks a little small though.

For me, with TTs and Stangfoeva's comments in mind, I think this has a lot of potential. I never have cared for the horizontal decklids on the S197s, though I know Ford was trying to emulate the '65-'66 Shelby 2+2s.

The '67-'68s and '71-'73s fastbacks were textbook examples of a true fastback profile, in which the roofline terminates at the end of the trunk. That's a look I've always liked and would like to see it again. I might even be open to a hatchback is they pulled it off well...
