I think Ford should follow Chevy's lead by making performance options standard. The brembos should be standard. This should also be the case for the next Gen SVT the Shelby shouldn't have a performance option it should be standard. The ZL1 options are only comfort options like a better interior. Just mu. 02

On the 13+ GT500 though, I agree. The coolers and all the other performance bits should be standard. The electronic shocks can be optional though, again for the same reason - drag racers will just want to pull them off. Everyone can appreciate the added coolers though.

I can see both sides. On one hand, I want the Brembos standard across the board, but a lot of GT guys are just going to remove them to run drag setups. Or they could be standard on GT and up, and then optional on V6/2.3s, that way the GT drag racers can swap with the base cars + cash and everyone is happy.

While I agree the GT500 should come out of the box with the necessary cooling and track ready bits, I can understand why they chose to make them optional. A small percentage of owners (I seem to remember around 7%) actually utilize their cars on the track. If those were included and potential sales were lost because of additional prixe, then it makes more sense to let people option them accordingly.
Although since the gt500 is getting increasingly more expensive in stock form, the market it's moving into isn't as p rice sensitive as when it was a low $40k vehicle.

I agree. The continued price increases are slowly heading to Corvette territory, where people don't mind the extra. My personal belief is that if Ford offered it with everything standard and charged $1000-1500 more, they'd still sell every one they made.

Remember these two? Of course you do
Well, the artist has signed up to Mustang6g and has informed us that there'll be an even more polished version (a red GT500 version) for a forthcoming MM&FF edition.
I have, of course, pointed him in the direction of this thread, so hopefully we'll get some first hand input

I went to 6G a few times, but they're all over the map with their "facts". Don't believe everything you read over there. They seem to jump on every little thing that remotely resembles a Mustang shape.

Aston and Jag bodywork all flows in a sleek, sexy way. The sharknose in that sketch does not, the way the headlights tuck in at the top combined with the very tall bulge on the forward part of the hood break the flow to me.
