Should I be at all concerned that I have a VIN but no build date? Ordered on 7/21

I don't think there is a need to be concerned, there are a lot of factors that come into play.
  1. dealer allocations
  2. deal stock vs. retail order
  3. order priority
  4. authorization to begin building retail orders.
There are probably more I don't know about.

So utterly, and completely dissappointed in Ford, and my Ford dealer right now.
I have had a test drive scheduled for over 7 weeks now, and now its not going to happen.
Me; why not?
Ford; dont know.
Me; who does?
Ford; let me call your dealership.
Me; why, I scheduled it with Ford?
Ford; Hmmm, let me check.
<<on hold for 5 minutes, which wasnt bad>>
Ford; Your dealership doesnt know when either. Can we schedule your test drive?
Me; Can you give me a garaunteed date?
Ford; Hmmm, I dont think so, but let me give you the dealer's contact info(as if I dont already have it...duh).

Anyone else feeling a little frustrated?????

I understand your frustration, Garbone. I would try closer to when the 2015s will be on dealer lots. Right now we're looking around end of next month-November time.

Production just started like 2 weeks ago and you're upset you can't test drive one?

I think his frustration is more with the fact that he was scheduled a test drive and has not received it. If you are scheduled a test drive there is an expectation that they will have a car available for you to drive. There needs to be some level of expectation management coming from Ford and Dealers about this car. There is a lot of media hype and folks are chomping at the bit.

Everyone! Congrats on your orders!

I just priced and built a 2015 EB Premium car with all of the same packages that I got with my 2014 v6 and wow! $42,621 is what it came in at for the 15EB Premium.. that's the "same" features I ordered with the 2014 V6 premium and my 2014 weighed in at 34k on the road. HUGE price difference!

I don't understand how that's possible. I checked every option I saw on an EB Premium on the build and price site, including Recaro seats and it came to $36,570.

Here's the build

Remember to subtract a Grand from that price for the Costco discount.

Don't even go there! I'm pissed about that. When I bought the 2014 and took delivery around 3 months ago. I TOLD my sales guy and finance person that I wanted the costco gift card (or whatever it was) over the gas card. it was and is a better deal.

I worked out the math. the gas card is around $800 is savings and the costco card is $1000 and they still gave me the gas card cause it was a "better deal"
