I quite like that. Base it off the Focus, though. It can take the place of the 3-door hatch and compete with Scirocco in Europe. Pretty much all of the front wheel drive hot hatch coupes have disappeared in the US. Sell it here and make VW rethink bringing over the Scirocco!
Capri was always a 7/8th Mustang.......RWD, rorty engine up front. Build a new Capri by all means, but base it off the '15 Mustang
A small-ish FWD coupe spun off the Focus would be great, but that would be more of a new Puma for me

Also, you did get "our" Capri, too, albeit with nasty Federal bumpers

The 3,5 Ecoboost with approx. 430HP will be the max. engine option in Europe, others speak of a 2,3 350HP* . So still ample room for the "grey importers" to get the 5.0 version across the pond.

Underneath its 2015, but body is 2013+ (or semi at least)
What they are refering to (as in changes), are the way the chasis narrows a bit. So the structural part of the car.
Specially in the front.
Engine is the same, but compartment is slightly different...and they seem to have some other additions on there.
And of course you can see the full IRS in the rear shots.

Mustang Plans for Europe on hold
From Motortrend:

What impact, if at all, do you think this will have on the next gen Mustang?
I believe, mechanically, no impact. But I'm willing to bet the styling will be, or has been, impacted by this decision.

I think the styling is pretty much locked in at this point.
I also think the styling being changed to suit Europe is overstated. Europeans like Mustangs because they are unmistakeably (is that a word?) American. Raw. Bold. Brash. They don't necessarily want an American European-style stang. Defeats the purpose.
Just like we like European stuff because it is, well, European...

Likely no direct impact. As mentioned, the broad lines of the 2015 Mustang are already colored in at this point. There may be a bit more emphasis on Turbo four models for Europe and other points on the globe where gas is a bit dear. The planning for a yet smaller Eurocoupe may have freed the Mustang to be a bit more American in character, whatever that might mean to whoever, but perhaps a bit larger and brasher/gaudier than otherwise. The Mustang is, nonetheless, geared to be a more global car, so don't expect some hulking agrarian beast with styling straight from the trailer park and J.C. Whitney catalog.
A Eurocoupe, presumably a neo Capri, would be a bit of a tricky fit, what with both the existing 3-door Fiesta and Focus already on sale there. A RWD-based car would offer significant-enough distinction, but on what platform? A trimmed down Mustang (S550?) platform? That could readily end up being overbuilt and overweight negating the smaller scale in large part. However, trimmer proportion would fit the trimmer European roads a lot better.
In any case, I would expect the Mustang to look like a cross between the EOS concept and perhaps the Fusion in various elements, with some distinct Mustang DNA to make it, well, distinctive.

Bit of cross posting going on, sorry guys!

Hmmm, I've read this a few times now......but the article, above, doesn't include the rumours Ford of Europe are now concerned about the validity of selling the Mustang in Europe, too!!
Are Ford of Europe getting cold feet already? I don't know what the sales projections were, but I can only see the Mustang being a niche product over here. It'll be competing with the likes of the Audi A5 and BMW 3-series which are the default "premium" coupes....and the majority of those are sold with diesel engines. Plus, badge snobs (certainly in the UK) would never consider driving a Ford.
That's no biggie for us Mustang fans. We'd still happily import them, just like we do now.
My only concern is that S550 is being designed to meet the Euro-pedestrian regulations. I just hope that doesn't compromise the design too much
A bigger market would be a Scirroco sized FWD coupe......exactly the car that seems to have been put on hold, for now at least. Base this off the Focus or even the Fiesta (the Puma was a solid seller for Ford) and I reckon they'd sell loads. And that car would, in my opinion, go down better in the US than the Mustang will in Europe.
Ford (Europe) needs something a bit more exciting. Sure, the Fiesta and Focus ST are coming...............but imagine a Focus ST in a slick coupe body. THAT would sell well over here, I think.

My apoligies. After I posted in the "Video" thread, I got pulled away and wasn't able to delete the post in this thread before others replying. I'm definitely not up on my forum etiquette!
