What's your opinion regarding this and year speakers, if you don't mind? Thanks
I am certainly running them at a louder volume setting. Is that because there is greater impedance, because I'm just enjoying the music more or because they are a new toy???? Likely ALL OF THE ABOVE.

For those of you interested in the DXi570s, you may want to look at Best Buy. Mine were showing up $73.99, when they rang up, they were down to $59.99. Hell of a deal for them.

I installed the fronts today. Here's a comparison shot with the stock speakers:

Sound is much better. Clarity is vastly improved and you're able to take these up a lot higher without issue. I don't know when I'll change the backs, it may be later tonight at the earliest.

You buy 1 ... the box contains a set of speakers. I bought a set of these myself last night after reading through this thread ...

So let me get this straight:

I just need to buy one pair and this replaces both front speakers? The link above has NOTHING to do with the rear speakers, right? A guy on the last page said he got these for both his front and rear speakers.

Volume seems to be the same, but they are clearer.

Yes, speakers come in pairs, so it will replace both front speakers. Rear are the same size, so if you bought quantity 2 you could replace all 4. I don't think most people will notice an improvement by replacing the rears. I would do only the fronts at first. Fronts are also a lot easier to swap out than the rear speakers.

Pair = 2 speakers. You have 1 speaker in Each door.

The Rear Speakers are the same size and these can be used in the rear as well. If you are using your Factory HU there is really no reason to replace the rears.

According to the pics in this thread ... both the factory speakers and the Pioneer's are 4ohm ...

My friend who is a mechanic told me thougth the rear ones would be easier to swap out. I wonder why?

What's a HU? Why won't I notice the difference with the rears?

thanks for entertaining my noob questions

He probably thinks they drop down into the trunk for easy removal, but they actually have to be removed from the top.

The door speakers are in your face, so the improvement is more noticeable. Trust me when I say do the fronts first.

HU = Head Unit... the radio in the dash. They don't call it the radio because they are so much more these days (CD player/changer, MP3 player, iPod connection, Bluetooth, etc.).

The guys above answered your questions ...

I have also heard the the factory HU is filtering the sound going to the rear speakers so you are not getting the full range in the rear speakers anyway.

Replacing rear speakers would make more sense when installing with an Aftermarket HU.

I can't believe those two speakers are so cheap. I bought a good set of 2.1's for my computer that ran over 160.

Ordered!

I am amazed that the factory speakers look as good as they do.

I did the back speakers Friday night. I could instantly tell a difference. I did have to make some slight adjustments to my EQ after putting them in, but they help the sound out tremendously.

For those of us only upgrading the fronts. Does anyone think moving the OEM fronts to the back would improve the sound?

I think moving the OEM fronts to the back will reduce more bass from the system. Holding both in my hands, the fronts are VERY light.

Also, those of you doing some DIY installs, I highly recommend the Metra 72-5600 wiring connectors. 100% plug & play.

Reducing bass is ok for me. This Saturday I'm having a JL Audio Stealthbox and 500W amp installed.
