The Shaker systems have one or two amps for the front subs (early builds had separate amps for left and right, later builds have one amp for both sides) mounted at the left end of the dash. I can't tell from the schematic if they are in the lower part of the dash or behind the upper left kick panel.

My schematic for the rear sub amp in the Shaker 1000 has only a bunch of pointers with no labels but my best guess is that it is behind the left quarter trim panel near the rear seat.

My speakers are 2,184.93 miles away but are on their way to Tennessee . I ordered 4 Pioneer TS-D6802R. They were just a little over half the price of two speakers from Crutchfield. Looks like i will have to remove the rear seat and side panels to install the rear speakers. I'm not looking forward to that. They should be here sometime on the 10th. Can't wait to install them.

I just replaced the two fronts with those exact pioneers... Don't bother with the backs.

It took 10 minutes a door (got the 7mm socket and 30 torx bit at Lowes yesterday). Just went for my first ride..... AMAZING.... completely different radio... It used to sound so muffled.

I had all my speakers replaced a couple weeks ago. They sound a lot cleaner then the stock ones.

i love JL audio... how do they sound?

where did you mount the crossovers? and tweeters? i prefer component systems over coaxial's

I had them installed at the Car Audio shop, where I bought the speakers. They used a plate that fits the 6x8/5x7 speaker location that allows the mounting of the speaker and tweeter in the stock location. I am not sure where they put the crossover box. I do not hear any rattles so they seem to have done a good job

They sound much crisper and cleaner then the crappy stock speakers. They add more bass, but the system could use more.

I replaced 4 speakers yesterday with the Pioneer TS-D6802R. The door speakers for the Shaker 500 are a joke. They looked like toy speakers for a child . 50W and made in Mexico. The rear speakers look a little bit better but they are 25W and made in China. My new speakers sound so much better than the old ones. I now have my 'fade' adjusted so i hear a 'hint' of the rear speakers. I'm happy Another up-grade i wouldn't have known about if it weren't for this 'Great' Forum

Hey David... Can you walk us through the trim removal process to get to the rear deck? I'm terrified of damaging all that trim!!!

I watched youtube video's on it about a million times There is a difference between the 2011's in videos i saw. The videos were for 05 to 09 Mustangs, but overall close enough to get you started. The rear speakers are screwed down with hex head screws making them easier to remove. You have to be 'very' careful removing the panels. I put a few small scratches on a couple panels but i think i can fix them .

I might need to research but last I checked, the Amp, or at least with the Kicker set up the amp is up behind the dash on the passenger side. I could be completely wrong though.

I have to add; I didn't remove the door handle cable on the front doors because the door panel tilted out and gave me plenty of room to do the door speakers. Lay something soft (towel) under the door panel just in case it slips off the door. One of mine did and one didn't.

I picked up a set of Boston S85s today and went to install them.

I hadn't realized I would need a harness to make these work...don't feel like hacking the connector on the stocker.

Just had to reinstall the stock speakers!

Thanks for the part number on the harness...2 to 7 days until I hear these babies.

I'd spend a little more to get better front speakers and don't bother with the rears.

you can mount the tweeter on the woofer itself to save space- plus you get a 5x7 bass out of it and component filtering which is sweet.
