Installed new front speakers
#221
I may just go down early on sunday and still come to Mr. Norm's. It's gonna depend on how I feel after work on friday. I may just install my speakers after work, come to dyno day, and then go down saturday night or sunday morning.
Idk how our baselines would compare as I already have my roush's installed.
Are you cruising up with CMC?

Installed 4 Infinity Kappa 682.9cf's last night. Install went very well. Only issue I had was placement of the speaker dongle/ connector piece in the doors. Sounds great, though, I still have to adjust top up vs top down. Really missing having an EQ

I got them yesterday and they sure are hefty, can't wait to get my car now!

Welcome to TMS !
Another person just confirming I should jump on these. I'm going to pull the trigger on these bad boys as well very soon.

I have the navigation system. I'd normally replace the HU, but that's not an option. I'm currently driving around at 80-100‰ all the time. So I want to install my amps, what do I need to accomplish this? Does my HU have 4 or 6 outputs? Are they all full range? Does my HU have any built-in cross overs or Eql?

Which question are you referring to? You've been here all of six days and I don't see a previous unanswered question - maybe we missed something.

I think maybe you're just yankin' our chains here?
My nav system is loud enough to disturb the neighbors a block away without even reaching 50%. I can't imagine going any higher than that even with the top down - I value my hearing.
In any case, it takes 10x the amount of power to double the volume. You would need a pretty substantial amp and speakers to accomplish that. Are you looking for more overall volume or just more bass?

In my old 05 with the LT's, Cams, and Macs, I could easily hear my stereo while doing 75mph on the highway with the windows down.
I don't know about the 10x calculation you've got, but I'd say my amps are close to that.
4 channel amp
I had it powering some 2 ohm 3 ways with an external crossover and the stock shaker 500 subs. Rear speakers removed.
sub amp
10" Sub
I'm looking for move volume, clarity, and bass.

The statement about power is basic electronics. A doubling of output wattage results in a 3dB increase in perceived volume. 3dB is noticeable but nowhere near twice the volume - more like one click of the volume control. It takes a 10dB increase to be perceived as doubling the volume and it takes ten times the wattage output to produce that 10dB increase because decibels is a logarithmic scale. So, assuming the 500 watts spec of the Shaker system is true (which is unlikely), you would need 5,000 watts to double the volume.
What I don't understand is how you can say you can't hear the system loud enough at 80-100% volume setting. Even at 70mph with the top down, I can hear my audio (nav) system clearly at less than 50% volume. Are you sure that your system is working properly? 80-100% should easily exceed the threshold of pain - especially considering there is probably lots of distortion at that level.

I'm going to order the Pioneers from Soniceletronix tonight because they have reasonable shipping to Japan. There is still room in the box for a few more things, so I was thinking about Dynamat. Is it really worth it?

You will love the sound from the Pioneers, I also did the rears and think the sound is the very best I have ever had. Soniceletronix is a good place to get them from. Get the little pig tails too.
