I have these and they are REALLY easy to install. Friday March 22nd at the Pensacola Muastang Club Show it was very windy and these struts protected my raised hood perfectly. The best ones by far.

I got mine yesterday, will install this weekend.
Question, as it says to pump them couple of times before instal, I had hard time compressing each one, had to apply pressure of my whole body holding it with 2 hands, against the floor. Is that normal?

Redline Hood Struts

I bought these from CJ Pony last week. They were delivered free an only took two days to get to me.

I bought the Black Ones which were on sale for $72. Did not know about the 5% discount.

These were easy to install and work great. Best mod I have done.

I recently purchased the no drill kit. Installing the lower bracket was easy. When I go to install the upper brackets into the hood, I am having some issues. I can get the bracket finger tight. When I go to tighten it with a wrench the nut that goes inside the hood only spins. It will not allow the bolt to tighten at all. Did anyone else have this problem or have an idea on how I can get this thing to tighten?

Thanks in Advance.

I had no problem with mine, try pulling down on the ball while turning the wrench, it only takes a bit to get the piece to catch.

I've read through this whole thread and nobody mentioned what closing the hood is like with the struts installed. I drop mine from about a foot per advice from my dealer and I don't want to risk denting the hood by lowering it down and then pressing down on it to latch it.

Did you figure it out? I did like the other poster and simply pulled down on the head while tightening it with my fingers. It took a couple tries to get it centered and to get it to take but it went pretty well.

Same here. Just a gentle push and latch from about a foot up. This has been my favorite mod by far.

Yeah, I finally figured it out. Turns out I had the washers backwards. Reversed the washers and it went on perfect.

I just installed the Redlines on my 5.0 and also on my wife's V6 Pony Package. Redline are absolutely the very best. CJ Pony has them for a very inexpensive price.
