Redline no drill hood lift / strut

Has anybody tried this yet?

Looks like it will be the lift to get, no drilling and the support were you want it.

Once again redline is ahead of the game.

works great...looks good also

Amazes me that it took this long for some company to come up with this slick of an install.

Just paint the lower bracket and it looks like a total OEM part.

And priced right too.

I ordered a set two days ago fro CJPony Parts

Reglular or Elite? The Elite's read like they'll stay nice longer, but they're kinds shiney and have Redline in pretty big letters on them.

2012GTCS 4/22/12 04:49 PM

Hmmm they still come out a little too far for my liking.

Redlines or MRTs?! Decisions, decisions...

STUKUP2112 4/22/12 06:36 PM

:nice:

Got the Plus version, a little better than the regular ones but in black powder coat

Nice, thanks for the heads up! Also good call on CJ Pony Parts - saves a little over buying from redline directly (free shipping + 5% off with coupon EP1012)

Can get the MRTs in body color.

Overboost 4/23/12 04:41 AM

Definitely the way to go for hood struts. I would take these over the MRT ones any day.

Why?

AzPete 4/23/12 06:21 AM

These are better than the drill type. I still like the MRT's I have and see no issues with either one. I do prefer the way the MRT's tuck in close to the back of the hood area. Good to have quality choices.

wheelman 4/23/12 06:33 AM

FYI: MRTs are no-drill too. Have no experience w/ either. Just asking as I like MRT's louvers.

When the hood is fully open, the Redline struts hold it in place. The MRT ones are a bit flimsy when fully open. I believe its because the Redlines use progressive struts. The difference is in the details.

Cool; thanks. I can always paint them. :)

No problem. I looked at the Redline and MRT ones side by side before I purchased, and feeling how the struts held the hood sold it for me. Drilling and riveting the brackets in place didn't bother me one bit.

These will be the very first thing I do to the car after it's back from having the clear bra installed.
