You can see how much they change color in the light. They look almost black in the shade and look more silver in the direct sun.

The wheels on my 500 were the same way. They looked really dark in the garage, but looked almost silver out in the sun. I would post some pics, but I don't want to clutter up your thread.

And I like the chrome badges, it breaks things up and draws your eye to the car. Same way on my 500. All of that black but the silver snakes and shelby letters and emblems stood out. Like the silver outlines on the red stripes. Along with the chrome lugs.

Leave that stuff alone, it adds some definition and character to the car. It looks really good.

IMO at least.

I like the idea of charcoal stripes, but dark charcoal. Go one way or the other, either silver stripes or really dark charcoal that almost fade into the black. Stay away from anything matte on black, I think its played out. IMO.

Maybe I'll get some gray plasti-dip and see how it looks. Probably going to just have to experiment a little and see what ends up looking best.

Get autodip instead. It's high gloss and actually looks like gloss paint, doesn't feel sticky like plastidip.

If I do stripes they'd definitely be a super dark charcoal. I like the matte black, but they just don't match the wheels.

$25 for a can of metallic gunmetal. I'll think about it. Thanks!

Don't start screwing around with the plasti-dip. I don't trust that stuff on paint and I think it would be a waste of time and money. Just go to a shop and look at some stripe material directly on the paint before you have it done.

I think a dark charcoal metallic stripe that is the same color as the wheels would look good on it. Super snake style, single wide stripe over the top with a thin stripe on the outsides. I'd probably stay away from the double Shelby stripes. Maybe even go with a lighter silver stripe for the thin ones on the outside of the wide middle stripe.

I've got an acquaintance that does customization, lights, detailing, stripes, etc. He got into the plasti-dip thing for a while and was really good at it, did his whole truck in it and after a few months regretted it. Took an army of work to get it off and a **** load of paint correction to fix what it left behind on his paint. He now advises people about it before he will do the plasti-dip on their vehicle. Makes them sign a waiver.

Oh, I was talking about the badges. I wouldn't plasti-dip stripes on my car. I have a little more class than that.

And that's exactly what I am thinking as far as stripes go. I'll probably end up going to the place that did my clear bra.

He didn't do it right then haha. Mine peeled off easy, but I still hate the stuff too. It's gross. The autodip is not sprayable rubber, it's sprayable vinyl (I know, big difference right?).

Besides, I suggested dipping the emblems, not the car. That's why I'd do an extra set, not the ones on the car, so you can spray them off the car. The autodip is very nice, and they're proud of their product lol.

But Nathan, that $25 can is double the size of the normal plastidip cans, which run $6-10 depending on the car, so yeah it's a little more, but you get more also.

Message them on Instagram. I got 3 cans when they first came out and I swear it was only like $33 total. They're also in Canada so maybe you can just drive over and pick it up

Of course they are.

Picked up some smoke plasti-dip and some glossifier at menard's for $10. I'll order some chrome badges and see how it looks. Can't hurt to try.

Was able to change the lugs to chrome in lightroom. Thinking I still like the black better. Not skilled enough to change the color of the badge and have it look half way decent.

If the car had black badges I would not remove them and put chrome ones on

So that's how I answer the question

Yes I would do black badges

I change my mind. Seeing the black lugs, I like them a lot better! Do those and black 5.0 emblems for sure!

Looking good Nathan I like the black lugs and the chrome 5.0 badge doesn't look bad at all.

Voice of decent here. I like the chrome lugs and 5.0. It's just a nice little accent, but what do I know.

OK, leaning towards black lugs. Ordered a spare set of emblems that should get here tomorrow. Going to experiment with them a little and see how they look. If nothing else, I'll just paint them black and leave it at that.
