I originally bought a cheaper brand and had to replace them due to worn out bushings.

After having a the billet Steeda arms on for a little over a week now, they transmit less noise through to the cabin and better planted over the cheaper arms.

Super easy to install too. You won't need to remove the wheels, but it will allow you better access to the emergency brake cable and help you see what your doing.
Good to know! I'll likely have the wheels off. Have a Steeda sway bar and BMR relocation brackets to install as well.

So I'm hoping to buy some tires this coming month sometime (before spring gets here and everything's backordered ). Just not sure which route to take. Just street driving for now, but want decent traction and good handling. Not too worried about noise or ride quality. Probably going with 255/35/20 in the front and a 275/35/20 or 285/35/20 out back. Don't want to spend more than $1400 absolute max, but only if they'll last me a good deal longer than a cheaper tire and give me great traction and handling. Here's what I'm currently considering so far:

Continental ExtremeContact DW 255/275 - $900 (Had some DWSs on my '02 and was really happy with them)

Nitto NT555 G2 255/275 - $820 (Hated the NT555s I had on my '02. Spun like crazy. New and haven't heard a whole lot yet)

Mickey Thompson Street Comp 255/275 - $840 (Have heard good and bad)

Cooper Zeon RS3-S 255/275 - $742? (Harder to find but very similar to M/T)

Michelin Pilot Super Sport 255/285 - $1385 (Have read lots of good reviews but mixed on if they actually last as long as they say they do)

Any advice is appreciated.

You already know my thoughts on the RS3-S and MPSS, though I may be picking up another set of the MPSS (wrapped around Forgestar CF-5s...just for the hell of it lol).

I'd honestly take a look at the 555 G2s. I'd also throw the Nitto Invo and Nitto NT05s into the mix. Invo for more of a stopgap for all-season/summer, and the NT05s for all out summer grip, but give up some wet grip.

Just for the hell of it? lol

I looked at the Invos but the tread life is supposed to be very short lived. And I the pattern of all things bothers me. NT05s aren't supposed to last long either, though I wouldn't mind having those.

Hahaha actually my wife is getting them for me. I showed her and the guy selling them is letting them go pretty inexpensive. She goes "that's a great deal, I can't pass it up!"

I agree on the tread of the Invos. I know a couple guys with the NT05s and they're lasting no better or worse than any other summer only tire, but with great grip. I'm still happy with the RS3s, but I think I might go for the M/T next time to try out that softer compound. I'd also nix the DW based on my experience with them when I was at Tesla - they don't last, we had a ton of random blowouts, and they are pricey.

Dang. Lucky guy!

Interesting on the NT05s lasting about the same. They're not supposed to be good in the rain, but mine has never seen more than a slight sprinkle. Would be just a hair under $1k. Would they be good on all four corners or would it be ok to get something else up front?

There's two guys in my club rubbing the regular ones up front and 05Rs in the rear - both said don't do it in the rain lol. For the regular 05s though, I can't say. I don't know anyone personally who is running them on the rear too.

But then I know you don't drive your car in the rain, and it's not like if you did get a light sprinkle, you'd be driving like a mad man!

I know you don't like the tread on the Invos, but they lasted me 2.5 years. Never slipped in the rain (although I have a little less power than you).

Didn't get them again only because it's my daily driver, and they were like hockey pucks under forty degrees. Even in Central Alabama there are too many days over winter around freezing. If I lived in South Alabama or in Florida, I probably would have gotten them again.

Hmm...I noticed you can swap sides with them too, so that should help them wear a little more even. They also come in a 295 vs only a 275 like everything else. How would 255s up front and 295s out back handle? I like the bigger tires out back.

They also went up $40 from the other day.

Ordered tires. Went with the Nitto NT555 G2s. 255 front, 275 rear. As much as I'd like a larger tire in the back, I just can't justify the price right now. Hopefully these will last me a couple years and then I can see if I want to go with something bigger.

So Discount Tire Direct has a President's Day rebate going now. I lucked out with my order not being processed until today, so I should get a $75 rebate.
