Ordered this morning
Something has to be wrong here. Demand that your dealer get on the phone with their Zone Rep. The Rep knows what quarter (and usually what month) your order is expected to build.
Hey bud, Shelby orders are not quarterly like Boss 302s. They are built in batches. They go by all 1st orders in each region. Once the list of 1st ordrers are done (meaning each dealer in their respected region gets a car, they they turn the page and go to Order #2, and then so on). In my region, from what I hear, they are starting on 2nd placed orders now. But each region is different then others. California gets more cars than the Northeast. Simple laws of supply and demand.
Does ANYBODY really know how the Shelby allocations work?
Why doesn't Ford publish this information? Maybe they don't want the customer to know just how long it is going to take for them to get their cars because they're afraid many people won't stand in line that long for a Shelby and just get a GT for just over half the cost and half the wait time.

So what you're saying is that my Ford dealer is full of **** when he tells me my Shelby GT500 allocation (their 3rd) is for the third quarter & should be built by the end of September? Even though it is not yet scheduled nor does it have a VIN number yet after 6 weeks.

Thanks for the info Jeff. That's what my salesman and his manager said a couple weeks ago. I still think ford should build a customers order before they build another dealers allocation that's not spoken for. Next week will be 5 months I've been waiting :-( and still no vin. What drives me crazy is if you go on auto trader theres over 190 of them at the dealers and almost all of them have an adm.Too be honest any other car I would have just moved on by now. But this car is worth every second I have to wait lol. At least I got a ride in one on a test track at 150mph it was unreal. Couldn't stop smiling for 2 days.
Are you sure they had an allocation for your car when you ordered it?
It wouldn't be the first time a dealer ordered a car without an allocation. Ford will still accept the order without one, it just won't get pulled until one is assigned to it.

Yes on the allocation. Deysha has confirmed the order is there and when I called svt and gave them the order number they pulled it right up so it's just waiting for the go ahead. Just hope it's soon since I'm in Michigan and this thing won't see winters.
Every orders status is usually "unscheduled" and "in process" until it is assigned a VIN.
A zone rep can verify your allocation status, but you will probably never be able to find out who he is.
So you're telling me even though I've been checking with Deysha, svt and my salesman and his manager are saying my order is good just not picked up yet, that My dealer might not have an allocation and it's no car for me? That would be one of the ****tiest things to ever happen to me. What would they accomplish by doing this?
I don't know, maybe the dealer is hoping he gets another allocation.
I am not saying that you don't have an allocation, I am just letting you know that you may not have one. Only your dealer knows for sure.
If your dealer has an allocation, he should be able to tell what quarter (1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th) it is scheduled for. It is my understanding that the allocations are connected to a 3 month production schedule window (quarter).
Maybe someone like 05FordGT will chime in and straighten out my explanation and correct any misconceptions I may have.

My salesman and also Jeff said that they way they are working the shelbies is every one in the region gets their first allocation then they start the second. Ive heard of instances of what you said happening but the dealer has came back and told the person theyre not gonna get an allocation but they tried. I'd probably end up in some corner curled up in a fetal position for 3 days if that happened after waiting so long. I won't feel safe till my *** is in the drivers seat but till then I trust they are telling me the truth.

Earl, the cars aren't assigned by Quarters. Those are Boss 302 allocations. Shelby allocations are done by region and by each dealer in each region gets one car before the next round of orders are built. Now one region may be on round 2 or 3 before another region is on round 2, but that's all based on simple economics. Example. California will get cars more than Pennsylvania. New York can get more than Ohio, etc.
Thanks for the clarification. I hate passing on false info.
