Caliper, wheres my caliper
Caliper, wheres my caliper
Hi folks,
Trying to do work on my Fox stang. She is to my knowledge OEM. So I order a new brake caliper knowing that the old one has not been working correctly. Ordered through Auto zone. I take the old one off and begin to install the new one. The shape and size are exact fit. But when I go to install the brake hose.. the fitting on my original is way smaller than the new Caliper intake.
I have a 1987 LX 2.3. I understand that the GT 5.0 has a smaller brake hose fitting, but when I inspect the GT version on line I see that the configuration is different. (inlet is on different part of the caliper)
I am starting to wonder if it is possible Ford used a different set up on my car when it was built... like '86 brake calipers?
Tearing my hair out... any advice.... I called Ford and they said "I dont know."

do you have an autozone nearby. You can return the one you got and I'm sure they will pull a couple off the shelf until you get the right one. Sounds like you may have ordered a GT caliper and not the one for the 4 poper
