My God they are masters at making that car look massive and front end heavy. I think it looks goofy with that big honking hose, perpertually mentally retarded smile and crossed-eyed HID headlights... Thank God they spared us rear end shots!

Новый Shelby GT500 – самый мощный Mystang, когда-либо выходивший из ворот фабрики, где «выращивают» современных «Мустангов». Тем не менее, новинку представляют как эволюцию предшествующей модели. Компрессорный V8 рабочим объемом 5,4 литра теперь вырабатывает 540 л.с. максимальной мощности.
Дизайн нового GT500 стал еще ярче и агрессивнее. Передняя панель автомобиля напоминает овальные контуры моделей Shelby Cobra, выпускаемых в 60-х годах прошлого столетия. Примечательная особенность – изображение змеи на решетке радиатора переместился справа в левую часть (если смотреть на авто спереди). Кузов GT500 «опирается» на легкосплавные колеса, выполненные в новом дизайне с 10-ю спицами. В варианте с открытой крышей производитель будет предлагать 18-дюймовые кованые диски, на купе будут ставить колеса диаметром 19 дюймов, обутые в покрышки Goodyear F1 Supercar.
Внутренняя обивка – кожа, алькантара. Ярко, сердито, недешево. Трансмиссия – 6-ступенчатая «коробка» Tremec и дифференциал ограниченногго трения. В качестве тормозных механизмов в GT500 используются 4-поршневые суппорты Brembo. Система обеспечения курсовой устойчивости стоит в стандартной комплектации.

In November last year, Ford presented at the International Motor Show in Los Angeles, the new Mustang 2010 model year. Then the head of marketing Jim Ford Motor Ferli promised continued «banquet» in January. Few doubted that the new items on Detroytskom Motor predstavmi Ford Shelby GT500.
The new Shelby GT500 - the most powerful Mystang, ever leaving the factory gates, where «grow» modern «Мустангов». However, new developments are as previous models. V8 compressor capacity is now 5.4 liters producing 540 hp maximum power.
Design of the new GT500 is now even brighter and more aggressive. The front panel of car recalls oval contours models Shelby Cobra, produced in the 60's of the last century. A notable feature - a snake image on the grille moved right to left side (if you look at the car in front). Body GT500 «builds» on alloy wheels, made in a new design with the 10 th spokes. In the version with an open roof manufacturer will offer a 18-inch forged discs coupe will be put on the wheel diameter of 19 inches, in obutye tires Goodyear F1 Supercar.

Simply, it is nicer with sharper and more aggressive look and Interior looks great..
Power wise, 40hp seems to be a good bump and looking for more

So basically you get the 09KR with the 2010 Interior and exterior for probably half price. Sounds like a good deal to me. I like the look of the new GT500. I still want to see a full rear shot before I decide to jump on an existing 09 or not.

putting them side by side like that....i think they are still both great looking cars. I think the power and interior will be the deciding factor in most peoples desicions....oh yeah...and price.

I love it. As bpmurr stated, you essentially get the current Shelby KR with, in my opinion, better-looking sheetmetal, a MUCH-improved interior and, probably, at a fraction of the KR's cost.
And Sterling Gray looks awesome on the 2010 Mustang!

Price is going to be huge. The current GT500 pushes the whole Mustang price/performance ratio to the extreme.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how much I like the look of this car, like the prior models the SVT continues to remain the best looking of the three models. Perhaps if the price isn't far off from the current car i'll pick one! I can't wait to see the mod potential of this monster !!!!

I can't see ADMs being very big at all on this one. Of course they will try, but, succeeding is another story.
The sales pitch of "they are only going to make 1000 shelbys and never make one again" is obviously gone now. The economy is in the toilet and the power increase is the same that you can get from Ford Racing for a few hundred bucks.
I love the new GT500 just as I do virtually all Mustangs. The only thing I don't like here is the big plastic air outlet in the hood. In the pics it looks enormous, plastic and kinda like they just cut a hole in the hood and stuck a cover on it.
Can't wait to see one in person. Do we know when it is being shown (Detroit probably?)?
