I bought mine with the intention of keeping it forever. I plan to pass it down to my son, etc, etc.

It will be difficult to ignore the progress of the future SVT models, but, I will stand my ground and keep this one. I invested a lot of emotion into this one as I waited for it to be designed, released, built and for ADMs to go away. I feel a personal attachment to this car.

Maybe I'll be able to buy another someday and have 2.

Some Ford dealers may have a hard time of unloading the 2009 GT500KR especially when the 2010 comes with much more, same power, and newer style. My local SVT dealer here in Canada hasn't even received their allotment of six 2009 GT500KR's yet (which MSRP for $93,995 CDN-Yikes!!) and will be facing some tough sales in the upcoming year, due to the economy. But the 2010 sounds like a great value, especially compared to the KR.

Price for performance the new GT500 will obviously be a much better deal. The KR, however, is a limited production special edition. They will still sell. I doubt they will get the huge ADMs that the dealers are expecting. This actually would have more to do with the economy than anything else. I saw a stat today that the stock market had its worst year since 1931.

For that matter, the current regular GT500 is a much better deal. You can add the perf parts form much less money. But, you still can't call it a KR.

It is definitely a dream car. I would not really want 2 that were that similar. I'd add a modified GT for daily driving first. Otherwise, I'd add an '03/'04 Mach 1 or 2000 Cobra R or, of course, a classic Mustang would be up there on the list.

Ugh, the comments... can someone go over there and set the record straight? I think I was banned there for actually defending muscle cars and not keeping with the eco-fascist line there...

I don't know what's worse, the comments or the troll-bait headline...
I don't know if you are the one who said this

"As far as Toyota or Honda, yeah they're reliable, but they're bland, no personality, and usually underpowered."

but whoever did on that website was not very polite. I will say this, Toyota's Supra and Acura's NSX are some of the most amazing vehicles ever produced. With style, performance, and reliability in mind these vehicles are amazing. They have style personality and have power. These things are quick in stock form and are amazing in their time and stand to run even by todays standards...

I have respect for other vehicles no matter if they are muscle cars, pony cars so on and so fourth.
Toyota and Honda have offered great vehicles and they still do. I prefer the ones of the past for speed but they still offer relible and economical vehicles till this day.

Do not get me wrong I stand for performance vehicles till the day I die and I stand against those that want ALL vehicles to be "Green Cars" or economicly friendly. Make the Civic and the Corolla more green friendly and more reliable but keep pumping more HP into cars like the Mustang and if necessary put a BIGGER engine(like the 5.0) in the Mustang with MORE HORSEPOWER but keep cars like the Focus and the Sentra with the world and miles pergallon in mind.

I love how the stripes actually look like they took their time with and are not like the current GT500 stripes where theres gaps all over and look very cheap

They are going to look that good on a studio car.

wait for the real production cars. They will likely be similar to the current cars.

Unfortunately, as long as they are vinyl, they will have malalignment problems.

Mine is actually pretty good. You have to get pretty close to see the defects. I have seen some that were blatently obvious. IT is a shame, really.

With the exception of a few of the initial production, every GT500 I've seen had excellent quality and workmanship. That is one area where Ford doesn't deserve any bashing.

The front end is a improvement over the black plastic nightmare of the GT, but I doubt the rear has been improved as much. (Yeah, I still don't like what Ford hath wrought. ) I don't hate the car, but overall the 2010 refresh just doesn't instill the same "want to have it" feeling that the current car did - although thanks to the crappy local dealers, it was easy to quickly got over that . Still disagree about the new exterior styling direction especially in the rear, but, at least Ford is going through the "trouble" of making the external differences in the front fascia among the 3 trim levels more apparent and I give 'em credit for that.
